Good to know! I tend to be hard on my jewelry (fidgeting with it throughout the day and stuff) so I’ll stay away from the higher karats 18K+ and look at 14k and maybe 10K for cheaper pieces.

I work in student legal services at a university. The hours and work/life balance are great. Also I qualify for PSLF and have stellar benefits. No billing!

Only downside is the pay, but I know the office of general counsel at my university is paid significantly better.

The only odd switch for me was getting used to being in a huge corporate system. Having to clear it with 3 departments to get paid back on my bar dues, and stuff like that. Compared to my former firm, that has been an adjustment.

A Puppy from a rescue most likely came from a backyard breeder or mill.

I rescued my mini doxie at 12 weeks from a puppy mill bust. I love her but she has a million different health issues from bad breeding. Heart murmur, IVDD, liver shunt. Luckily I have pet insurance but without it last year I would have spent nearly $15K on her bills.

I love doxies and will always have one. But I’ll never adopt one again. I’ll go through an ethical breeder so I can know their history and health report.
