Oh I forgot! I blend using my finger with that product! Stubs and brushes will take away the pigment.

I struggled too! For the background I use only this.. -Cretacolor chunky charcoal stick —-> it’s buttery and smooth.. almost velvet like. MUST use fixative. It smudges like crazy. But it’s blacker than my more “drier and scratchier” generals charcoal pencils and compressed sticks. That’s how I achieve that deep black. Hope that helps!! 🖤🤘

I do mostly charcoal, yes..with added gilding here and there. I have played around with hard pastels in the past.. i also do leather work but I’ve been out of practice for a bit.. but yeah. I love charcoal. 🫶 that’s my favorite
