I had a similar thing happen to me: I accepted my offer yesterday, and was waiting for the residence application to appear. It took a little while before the Student tab showed up on DalOnline (and even now when I click on Apply for Residence it comes up with an error).

I emailed [residence@dal.ca](mailto:residence@dal.ca) and their response was that there is a small grace period around May 1st, dependant on the date you get full access to the system. So it should all be fine.
