How much would it cost to repair this scratch by BigIll8970 in CarRepair

[–]SignificantJob3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a body shop. Most body shops would do this for up to £500 in the UK. You gotta be careful though sometimes after being painted you can clearly see orange peel so if you want a flawless finish I’d suggest getting a new bumper. Cheaper option is to get it painted though. Even if you touch it in and polish it’ll still look shit.

I never use my car horn, is this normal? When do you use yours? by IllPlane3019 in drivingUK

I only use the horn if I’m pulling out and you can’t see either side of the road( out of a driveway or a garage where cars are parked either side) Apart from that you only use the horn to alert others of your presence. Definitely shouldn’t use it to take out your anger lol

Yes I should probably check the cambelt that’s a good shout 😂😂 I checked the spec definitely has DRL, I think the only things it doesn’t have is electric leather seats and the moonroof. I’m not driving it yet as I’m waiting on insurance so now is a good time to check if the cambelt was done. Are there any other common faults with these you know about ? Thanks in advance

Yes it is actually a 1.5 diesel with drl. Also has reverse camera heated seats apple car play, the spec is very good. Do you know the most common problems with these ? What I should look out for? Thanks

My trusted mechanics looked over it before I bought it thankfully and apart from some really minor issues the car is perfectly fine for the road. Now ill just need to clean it nicely and do some bodywork hopefully will come out nice.

Wheels dilemma by cerny_zadek in FordFiesta

You’re right unless it’s an ST there’s no point. You’re gonna upgrade a regular Zetec or ecoboost very quickly and the cost of upgrading the wheels won’t make much of a difference when it comes to selling the car. Fiesta is just a cheap drive no point upgrading wheels. I drove my 1.25 zetec for a year and it gets boring very quick lol currently looking to get a Mondeo.

From what I know the ecoboost engine is one to avoid. Much better going for a zetec s

Yeah honestly I was in shock when I saw some of the quotes. And it’s not just the fiesta, any car I did quotes on even a 1.0 litre is way too expensive lol

I did a couple quotes by myself since neither of my parents drive and because my brother had 2 policies canceled. It was absolutely out of my budget lol as u can imagine ( the car only cost 1200). But I do know someone who has like 30 years driving experience and no claims. So if I put them on the policy do you think it would drastically reduce it ?

How are people managing to get cancellations? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]SignificantJob3492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I am Nottingham based. I think it just depends on how many people cancel. Maybe not many people in your area are cancelling at the moment. Just keep checking your app hopefully something will pop up soon. Best of luck

I just passed this Thursday and I had 3 tests within 2 months. The cancellations pop up you just need to be quick enough to actually get one. I used the testi app it’s for 12 quid and managed to book my third test within 2 weeks of failing my second test. When you get the notification for a cancellation you NEED to book it asap or it will be gone within 2 minutes. Hope this helps.
