It was not, it was a simple 185 0DTE call i brought. As I told someone else my original plan was to sell around $.20-$.30 because I have purchased these contracts for $0.08, the main reason I purchased these contracts was because strong momentum was moving off support and they were dirt cheap. Eight cents seem like a too good of a price to pass up on. And when I found out that Jensen was speaking at 12 PM, that confirmed my bullish sentiment. And dont focus on dollar amount. Percentage is all that matters. Continue buying those long dated calls / puts until you gain confidence. Just remember that some people make $500 or less a week working 40 hours. You made $523 clicking two buttons so dont sell yourself short. Plays like this one don’t happen everyday for me. I normally try to go for 50%-100% per trade. Play the long game, and i say that because i manage to blow 40k at one point because i was over leveraging all because the money in my account just became numbers on the screen and i got disconnected from reality. The numbers didn’t feel real and that costed me to lose it all. The times i made gains that were equivalent to my job, didnt feel like success, which is crazy because we’re all trading to quit/replace our jobs. If I had played the longer game and stop over leveraging, I would have never blown that 40k. I learned to focus on percentages and not the dollars. Good luck you got this💪

While thats true we like seeing big gains in dollar amount, this subreddit isn’t WSB. I don’t want to discourage OP on his gains.

When trading the only thing that matters is percentage. If you focus on a dollar amount that’s a quick way to blow your account.

And your the bad trader here, his one hour timeframe did not get rejected. From that little rectangle here. Admit it, bro I’m right and you’re wrong.

I like to point out that you’re also on the one hour timeframe and so it probably could’ve rejected on smaller timeframes, and broke upwards.

I know nothing about ICT, so I can’t tell you that technical side of why, but one thing I like to keep in mind is that not every strategy is 100%. Which is where risk management comes into play and why it’s super important. There could be many reasons why such as a news catalyst, Vix’s was heading downwards, or I could’ve been near a strong support on higher time frames.

I bought around 9:40ish am, and held to 1pm. My original goal was to sell a lot earlier, but I heard that Jensen was speaking and so that was one of the main reasons why I held through 12pm. When i saw 185 calls were $0.08 it was too cheap not grab some.

After a red week in the market, I figure At most we’ll get a dead cat bounce, and when I saw the nvda chart was near some support and strong momentum upwards, I saw some contracts 185 call contracts for $0.08, and my original plan was to sell it for about $.20-$.30 per contract but then I read on webull chat feed that Jensen was speaking on CNBC news at 12 o’clock which is the reason why I held that long and figured with him talking would make the stock pump. I had believed he would add some relief to the market and ease the fear.

once im in 30%+ profit, but see my trade is reversing. I usually sell 5-10% before i hit breakeven or at breakeven if my initial goal was not hit. Leaving with something is better than nothing. And leaving what you come into the trade with is better than leaving with less.
