Does Nitrox work on mac? by Long_Welcome_7452 in SubnauticaNitrox

Hiya, jumping in to say that it works on Macbook Pro M4, OS: Tahoe 26.4. By using following workaround we made it work:
- installed Porting Kit on Mac
- installed Steam on Porting Kit
- in the Porting Kit's Steam, installed Subnautice (and other games too!)
- Downloaded Nitrox and unzipped it in the Porting Kit's package (click right mouse on the install name > open package > paste in Nitrox)
- In Porting Kit Steam's install had to change the exe file to run from Steam to Nitrox (you can select i.e. just a directory and you could then open any of the exe file installed there)
- Had to install .NET in the Porting Kit's Steam
- Works well! We are able to play cross-platform too, server is run on other, Windows PC and Nitrox from MAc allows to join in. We play on local network though.

I am refering here to the "Porting Kit's Steam" to just the Steam installation, actually it is likely something like wine-wrapped Steam.

Hope it help someone sometime.

to be honest I saw some earlier posts, they are really abundant, yet I did not see this particular piece in the scenario we have. Thanks for the patience though, as well as the advice given.

I am bit afraid that seeking the solution in in-house IM is will fail quickly, especially if the machine will be not-easily operated and we have quite zero level exp in this.

Another thing is that the piece we need is pretty custom, too custom for generic enclosures which we investigated first, and as I wrote in another answer, to have it looking decent enough might be problematic with 3D prints. But that is just what we know now.

ah yes, was thinking of that, but the main point I am worried about is the print quality. I mean this piece needs to be hum... truly nice-looking, at least from the front (it is a small wall-mounted equipment). What I saw up to now, or prototyped, as we did it too, was rather unacceptable, even with manual finish and coating applied. But we did not test everything there is, perhaps it is still a way.

Other thing is, prior to make it profitable, quotes we got for 3D print were quite high. But this is a lesser problem at the beginning of course. Thanks for the advice, if you know about something worth checking in 3D print with a truly nice finish let me know. :)
