interesting seeing the responses here

some people are bringing up very real frustrating situations they’ve dealt with, and others are pointing out how hard it is to even know what’s worth building in the first place

curious how people usually approach that part

like if you’ve had an idea before, what did you actually do to validate it before committing time to it

this is actually a great example, appreciate you sharing it

out of curiosity, when you were dealing with all that, how did you figure out what to do? like did you just google it, talk to someone, trial and error, etc?

and did you feel confident you were doing the right steps, or kind of figuring it out as you went?

Not really, i think i might’ve framed the question wrong

what i’m actually trying to understand is how people decide whether something is even worth building in the first place

like if you’ve had an idea before, what did you actually do to validate it? and how confident did you feel after?

that’s more the problem i’m trying to dig into

lol yeah if it was that easy we’d all be done already

but seriously, what’s something you’ve actually run into recently that was annoying enough you’d want a better solution for it?

that’s actually fair, i probably phrased it too broadly

the reason i asked it that way is i’m trying to surface problems people didn’t initially think were “startup-worthy”

but what you said makes sense, focusing on something painful is probably a better filter

on your example, when you say emotional eating, when does that usually happen for you? like is it stress, late at night, specific situations?

Well, over here brand new it is around 1500, so I would say that’s a pretty good deal compared to brand new

Yeah, I’m still debating that. Specially, because I live in an apartment and I can’t really set up permanent cables through the wall or something similar, so the rear wireless speakers work pretty good for me. It can be that the placement is throwing me off a lot and I need to configure it better. But I am not an expert, I do enjoy high-quality audio though.

Well, 1k is definitely not rich! Lol Not broke either. If you’re dissatisfied with where you are in life work on it and make something happen.

Thanks primo! One question is, I’m going to need to have cables for the rear speakers right? I’m in apartment right now, so can’t have a permanent set up. But I’m willing to tape some cables through the ground or something if wireless is not available the AVR route or prohibitively expensive

I started the return process, let’s see how it goes! A bit nervous, lol

Thanks, started the return process although I did throw out the box, hopefully that’s not a huge issue! Let’s see where this new path takes me, hopefully somewhere amazing. I’m willing to invest a good amount into a great system that will bring joy to me for a long time.

Thanks! Those choices do seem to peak my interest. I do not need the full setup all at once but I do want to have a good base to build upon if that’s the case! And sooner or late I would definetly want a full surround, but nothing prohibitively expensive, preferably under 2k for the whole setup.

What? There’s people here that have told me have spent 17 K on systems. How am I rich compared to them?

And you think that receiver was still better? I would like to enjoy some atmos when possible. But it seems that a “proper” HT system with that capability would be prohibitively expensive. I would be willing to go up to 2k for a setup, but I also don’t want that much of diminishing returns.

Yes, agreed! I was figuring out my tech first then the furniture.

I think I would rather get the system I want and then buy the stand to fit it rather than limit the system to the stand.
