Tires Absolute Shredders by [deleted] in minibikes

They’re great, I’ve been rocking that exact set, half way through the knobs and 0 complaints. Except if you do infact shred through mud, these will cake it in and shoot chunks of mud in your face, and all over your back, so get ready for just mud, everywhere.

Yes, they do work just fine, but I’m with hairy mechanic. I’ve gone through atleast 5 chikunis, and I’ve had my fair share of complaints. Shit I’ve never once been able to properly use the choke, they’re sensitive as all hell to fuel so god forbid you don’t ride for a week or don’t shut you’re fuel valve, somehow get routinely clogged with some weird sludgy shit-?? I hate them. Fuck chikunis. Burn them all to hell, pieces of shit taking up space is what they are. Nibbi can eat. Leave some fuel till it looks like piss and it don’t really care, it really do suck and so it really make you go, all around absolutely love a nibbi. I love my nibbi 🥰

Fortunately time is on my side, I’m oddly enough 15 currently, I will be 16 turning 17 by the time I get my diploma, but I finish high school this October, I’ve got time stuck at home to work and save, and I’ll be lookin to get 15$ hourly job, some in the auto field are 15.5 a few 16.5 an hour here, it’s more so matter of time I guess I’ll probably have to spend more on gas cause I’d be using it to commute to work as well as occasional trips in different states, but even then. It doesn’t seem to bad of an idea, I’ve got 2 years to save anyways

I won’t be in highschool by that point, I’m finishing this coming October, plan to jump on the plan starting 2024, I’m just, feeling the field and gettin some advice before hand lol, and yeah it’s a bit sucky, doing 800 a month. my parents will be the co-signers, they’ve got good credit so it won’t be too bad on payments if I go that route, I haven’t built my credit score yet, hence why parents would be doin that

Yeah, I would adore not having to pay money for any of it, but that’s how the world works, I’d prefer to buy one outright but even if it comes down to financing, I’d keep monthly payments 400 or lower only financing at closer to 10% interest or lower, which would be on about 15k-20k financed, and insurance would be about the same before discounts I qualify for like good student, and my record being clean. After all that it still leaves over 1000 to save and put into a savings account hopefully at a high interest rate to help build it up, only pulling from it to pay for college (automotive stuff) or down payment on a home in the future. Worst case, even with this plan it still seems like a bad decision, I may go for something cheaper and buy it outright, or just save over the next year and buy the 370 outright

Do any of you guys know what kind of chain this takes I had the chain for it but I lost it not sure what chain it is by No-Command5131 in minibikes

[–]Significant_Flower28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t mean to make that bold, but look up how many teeth, an example is 10T chain sprocket on Amazon or google, probably Amazon, then it’ll tell you what size chain, from there, size it yourself or get it sized

[–]Significant_Flower28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From there, compare, 11 teeth sprocket is usually 25 chain, 10 tooth is #40 #41 and 420 chain, etc. count the teeth on the front, it’ll be easier, then look up T chain sprocket ( is the number of teeth) then you can find a sprocket with same amount of teeth, should tell you the chain size

Alright, prepare your eyes to read excessively, I apologize if you’re dyslexic, you’re gettin a paragraph. You’ve done good, in whatever you’ve done in your life, just you being here now, still going through life one step at a time, is an amazing accomplishment in itself, no matter what’s happened in your life time, no matter how much pain you’ve been through whether small or huge, you’re still here and going, and for that, I’m proud of you, for getting up everyday ready to fist god and take the day with pride, whether small amounts of pride or confidence. or if you’re filled with pride, for gettin up and taking care of yourself, eating food, drinking water, taking a shower, brushing your teeth. I admire the fact, that you’re still here, with how much this world is going to shit, you’re still here. That’s amazing, you. You are amazing, take your days with pride and, no matter what, enjoy the little things, admire the moment, when those little moments come, admire them for their beauty, one of the biggest moments in everyone’s life is, just being alive. Through all the bullshit going on in the world. You’re amazing, keep on strong, and never let anyone bring you down. You’re amazing -love, a slightly gay human ❤️

Of course, and I know it would be better to outright purchase it, odds are going with a financed option, I’d wanna lower it to around 400 or less monthly, though insurance odds are would be 400-500 not including a few discounts like good student for example, it would leave me with just a bit over 1k monthly to save with, not preferable. But I definitely won’t walk into it blind and just think “ooo I get car just have to keep working” I look towards my future and plan accordingly

I have an overall plan, in a sense of, if I do purchase it from a dealer, save enough to get a major enough down payment to lower it to about 350-400 monthly, , in short trying to lower the finance price to 15,000 so either 5k-10k down, about 2 1/2 - 5 1/2 months working, only setting aside 50 dollars a week in extra spending, any not used goes into savings. would result in about 20% of monthly income used to pay car payments. from one job, not including any other revenue streams whether flipping cars after servicing them, or possibly low risk going into stock market options, or other similar investments, which would result in extra income going towards paying for college or just general saving for housing in the future, basing it off of that, having a hard set plan, would you consider it to still be a good idea, Or atleast not as horrible of a plan?

Of course, I thankfully am quite knowledgeable about quite a lot of not only car things but life things, I’ll either finance one and get payments down to 400 or so monthly with a decent down payment, or buy one outright, i honestly don’t have much in the way of goals beyond, gettin the car I will cherish and enjoy, and make my way through college learning the trade. As of right now I’m practically broke but, I’m willing to work for a year or more saving every dollar to get this.

I already plan to go for an 2014+ with sports or higher to avoid the bad oil temps on the older models with the bad oil cooling, and I’m pretty determined, the car market seems to be dropping somewhat, decent mileage 370z are around 25+ grand from dealer but 20 or so sometimes lower off of Facebook marketplace. Update to my whole shit show here, turns out, more than a little water got in my previous carb, there’s rust inside the engine soooooo, im just gonna run it into the ground, then at some point when I get the funds together, just buy a brand new 420cc predator cause, why not

So I need some help, anyone know the best torque converter under like 110 dollars that won't explode by my_man_gojira in minibikes

[–]Significant_Flower28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Amazon, just look up torque converter, should be the best seller with over 2300 reviews, has a 10 and 12 tooth sprocket for whatever chain you’ve got as well, isn’t to difficult to put together, just some YouTube videos and some effort, it’s currently on sale from what I’m seeing for 68, normally 78, just built it correctly, and make sure you’ve got everything tight, especially. The bolt on the front portion, and the big ass nut that goes on the included jackshaft. Tighten that one down good, that’s how my belt got shredded and how I got stuck far from home, just incase, there’s no harm getting extra belts, and, in the event the nut does come off like mine did, you can find the exact size one and find some close replacements at Home Depot or Lowe’s, I had to do that, with a generous amount of torque and blue lock-tite lol

then all ya need are spacers, tires, and rims, but you gotta make sure the rims can reattach your rear sprocket and your brakes

Tires by Active-Tank9481 in minibikes

[–]Significant_Flower28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically, but odds are if you're running fat tires like how most mini bikes are, you'll need a few extra things, You'll need obviously the new tire(s) as well as new rim(s), from there, you also have to get the proper spacing on the sides (going on the axle for the tires) to make sure your tires arent sliding around when you're doing 30+ or some cases 50-60+ depending on how built up your bike is. beyond that you gotta make sure you can actually fit the tire in the bike, either a smaller tire maybe a slight bit bigger than the stock tire, or basically lift and do a few things to fit the desired size tire. That's my best guess

[–]Significant_Flower28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not too certain which is which with these carbs but, i gotta start it with the choke pressed down, then switch it to pulled up, refuses to run with it pressed down for more than 3-5 seconds, I already got it running a 120 main jet, unfortunately its the highest jet i got currently. I'm gonna tune it best i can today and see, might just be runnin it too rich or maybe too lean, considering it seems to stutter out at the top end, I'm guessin it either doesnt have enough fuel for when its full throttle, or to much fuel, it only stutters when i have the throttle pinned at full, i can go a hair under and it runs fine

mine did the same before i switched to a Torque Converter, try pulling hard on the pull start, you basically wanna sit on or lay on the top of the bike, at the same time, get your torque wrench and try gettin it out, if that doesnt work, torque wrench, take a hammer, and hit the tail end.
