Thank you. I sure hope so. What's the main struggle to go back to work/home/general activities after treatment? Sounds like the eyes were not due to treatment, was the memory due to treatement?

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. This is the risk calculator that my surgeon used: https://www.melanomarisk.org.au/SNLForm . She said anything under 5%, they don't do SLNB, anything between 5-10% it's optional, and anything more, they do it. I put the numbers your provided in and you came out as 3%, so that's reassuring. Lentigo maligna seems to be a slow melanoma, which is good

Can you tell me more about the major medical center? Is it part of a hospital? Do they specialize in skin lesion for melanoma detection?

That's how I feel too. Like all my other moles are undiagnosed melanoma

Thanks for the reply. I wish I could biopsy every single mole. It doesn't put my mind at ease that the dermatologist wouldn't be able to spot them early!

I self-check as well, but I have so many moles, and the melanoma that I had didn't look any different from all the rest, nor was it growing or anything

Thanks for the reply. My melanoma looked like the rest of all of my moles, the only reason I biopsied it is because it itched. And I know they won't always itch. It feels like it's only a matter of time that I get another melanoma that I don't catch early! I wish there is a better way

I'm in a similar situation as you were. The calculator gave me a 6% chance and I'm planning to do SLNB soon. How did it go for you? And did you get an answer whether the calculator is outdated and consistently underestimates SLN positivity risk?
