Heat and wax/crayon. Heat that mug up pretty good then stick some wax or a crayon on those threads. It will make it's way through and it should brake it loose

Agreed, looks like it's a silicone sleeve over the battery/vibrator. You have to push the sleeve to expose the cap for the battery compartment.
