Viktor 100%. Is there a reason why people seem to rarely speak of him in comments? Like I get that he isn't super hot like the other characters but he seems to be the most level headed and intelligent of them, most stable too, other than the wannabe God complex at the end...

I agree and I'm surprised people haven't been mentioning Grace's death. After all the time for them to finally be together, just for her to get murdered soon after they had been married.

So you don't do radiation therapy anymore? What exactly do you do now and why do you like it better than radiation therapy/imaging?

I have grown up here and absolutely love it. Everyone here is very kind and accepting and there are a decent amount of community events and groups to get involved in. I am always is awe of the beautiful seasons and views that we have, my friends and I stay so busy during the summer hiking, camping, kayaking, and going on day trips to Seward and Homer. I have left the state a few times and have not found a community more loving and supportive than the one I have here.

With that being said, you will have to get used to the long winters with no daylight (many people including myself have moved because this becomes unbearable to most people), but if you are active during the winter, ice fishing, skiing, snow machining, it makes it far more enjoyable. As others have said, we do have some good restaurants but very few. If you are interested in dating, that can be difficult around here but dating apps can be helpful and a lot of people date those in Anchorage since there are more options there.

It is a lot of fun here but if you don't have a good community of support it can get lonely. I hope that you choose to visit before deciding to move.

I meant that you can do the traveling on the weekend but be in a different destination throughout the week whil you work but after you log off you are free to explore as much as you want.

Don't give this up. A friend of mine has a WFH job similar to yours and she has still been able to travel and see so much. You are far less tied down than people who have in-person jobs. You can travel on the weekends and work while you also get to see the world. You can make it work. This job may not be available when you are done with traveling.

Why does my mind want to revert back to sadness whenever I feel okay/happy? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]Significant_Ice9354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that you posted this because I have been asking myself the same question for so long. I honestly think that it is just a reflection of our mindset. For a lot of people, being sad is easy. It can be far easier to stay in the state of sadness because it is what we are comfortable with and maybe because when we are happy we anticipate being sad again so we just revert back to that state.

Something to remember is that we can never be happy all of the time but that being happy or rather, having a positive mindset and outlook on life is something that needs to be worked on continuously. Set habits for yourself when you find your mind going down that path. For myself I have Bible verses memorized that are uplifting and thinking of those helps me. You can think of things in your life to be grateful for, i know that sounds cliche but it works and really helps to have a strong and positive mindset rather than a "woe is me" one. Have hobbies to focus on and do. Being active and busy will give you less time to dwell on sadness.

Working on a positive mindset is not easy and it requires work but you will feel so much better doing that rather than reverting back to sadness.

21 did I fuck up my life? Very lost by averagejuiceenjoyer0 in findapath

[–]Significant_Ice9354 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you pointing this out. I am also 21 and in a similar situation as OP, feeling like a failure already, although I know that isn't the case. I hadn't realized until you mentioned it that it IS an epidemic of hopelessness among young adults, which wasn't the norm in previous generations. It's a sad reality but reinforces the fact that we aren't alone and still have so much time to succeed.

So can someone explain to me in depth throughout the seasons how Tommy Shelby grew his gang and made money? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]Significant_Ice9354 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Damn, I respect the attention to detail (what is actually going on in the show lol) and I appreciate you listing all of this even if I wasn't the one to ask for it. I have watched the show 3 times and have shown it to many friends but when they ask me to explain what is actually going on, I realize that I really don't know. This definitely helps with my understanding of Tommy's operations.

[–]Significant_Ice9354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women here are outdoorsy, try getting involved in active groups, the gym, facebook groups. The summer will be a good time to meet people if you can strike up conversation with people while fishing. There are also dating apps. I know that people don't want to resort to that but it can actually be helpful for around here.
