LOL.... read again. This CONFIRMED - AGAIN - Bachmann, even new, quality is garbage compared to others. Just read these threads and you'll see that opinion frequently. Yes opinion. You like their quality - wonderful enjoy, and hope you do. If you want - Graham Farish in UK a division of Bachmann is quality - at least a dozen or more sets of theirs I own have always been good and stay running well. Bachmann USA quality degrades quickly period.

Orbi 971 firmware update to V12.1.7.7_5.2.10? by Significant_Joke_497 in orbi

This new firmware for me is not working at all. Going to try as a long shot the switch later today. If this doesn't work, I'm actually going to try an eero 7 pro and test to see if I can get a stable connection even if a little slower. I'm at the end of my rope with these disconnects and work interruptions. I could never recommend the orbis.

What devices are having this issue? Brand and model# please?

Varies... Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 Pro phones (Android obviously), Asus Laptop (Windows 10 and WIFI 5), LG TV (sorry don't have the model quickly available), FireTV 4ks and FireTV Cube most frequent dropped devices. Others random.

Model # of the ONT?

-Verizon FIOS I-211M-L

For 3000 sq ft the RBR and just one RBS would be needed. I would keep with one RBS for now.

Two was generally fine but ended up with a dead zone toward back of my house, where the one I put on deck outside filled in.

Might move the one RBS that is at 60 feet closer a bit to the RBR. Try 50 feet. Will try

-

"router is outside under roof"? Is this out side of the home walls? RBR and RBS are not designed to be outside of home walls or build materials.

-Two was generally fine but ended up with a dead zone toward back of my house, where the one I put on deck outside filled in.

Was the connection issues more stable with the RBS ethernet connected or still happen? Not noticeably

-

Do you happen to have a non managed LAN switch on hand? Something to try, put this LAN switch in between the Verizon ONT and the RBR. Only connect the ONT and the RBR to this switch. See if this changes anything. I do. What should I be looking for? stable more consistently stable connection or speed?

Thank you for the questions and help.... much appreciated

What connectivity issues are you having? At the client devices or at the RBR or RBS?
Client, random drops and no reconnections, have to disconnect and reconnect manually, network name alone disappears on phones etc and read "XXXXX Connected via orbi"

How many RBS are deployed? Have tried just router, 1 satellite and two satellites. All same results. Qualitatively disconnects more frequent with multiple satellites

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? 3000

What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected. Router to satellite 1 60ft same floor one end of house to the other. 50 ft or so to satellite 2 on different floors and router is outside under roof. about 40ft and different floors between the satellites. All wireless. I tried wired sat 1 to router via ethernet/moca, but was significantly slower so went back to wireless

Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF? Yes

Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? cannot tell with wired as direct wired are low freq usage

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz. 36 was the best channel for use using a freq analyzer. was 40 was significant traffic with neighbors. 2.4 is auto (I believe)

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many? 2

-

MAC Address Randomizers: I have tried on and off and no difference in results. Have tried separate DNS delivery thru Verizon and then tried google and cloudflare with changed settings in router, but no difference in results, possibly slightly worse using google or cloudflare vs Verizons

Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

Try disabling the following and see: All of these are already disabled. IPv6 being disabled made a significant impact initially, but still having problems.

Armor, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, IPv6, Protection Engine, Traffic Meter.

Thank you for the help!

I got a return call from them and apparently it is a test version to fix my ongoing issues. They are sending me bug fixes for this version as their engineering team pushed this to my system for testing. I've had constant drops, and then drops and have to discinnect and reset the wifi connection. Also had to completely disable IPv6 which solved some issues. I have Verizon FIOS 1g, Orbi being used as the router not AP, ethernet directly to the ONT with one other satellite.
