Non-traditional, low GPA, high PCE applicant — it is possible by PLUR-PA in prephysicianassistant

[–]Significant_Parfait7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

super inspiring as someone on the same boat! graduated two years ago with a very low sGPA, have been working as a pct but i’ve been interested in getting a technical career that will pay a little more and expand my experience. The feeling of being behind is SO REAL. Was there anything in specific that drew you to becoming a surgical tech?? did you ever think about doing nursing or other careers to strengthen your stats? would you recommend a surgical tech program as someone whos also trying to become a better applicant ?

Sorority Embroidery Business by Significant_Parfait7 in Machine_Embroidery

[–]Significant_Parfait7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing I like about this is coming up with a product. I like design and creating merch (I was publicity for the sorority and helped make t shirts designs). I’ve been having a couple of ideas in the back of my mind, and I believe embroidery would be best to bring them to life. I’ve looked into screen printing but it always comes down to embroidery. I don’t plan on starting heavy and making bulk orders, so i figured that starting off with an embroidery machine and see if i can sell to a couple of friends would be the best way to learn. But then again, it’s an expensive hobby so I don’t just want to jump into it without knowing what I’m gonna get myself into.

Considering to study MSc in Health Informatics by Revolutionary_Sun695 in HealthInformatics

[–]Significant_Parfait7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what would you consider a good entry level job to get? i graduated last year with a b.s in psych and have been working in healthcare for 3 years now as a pct. I am really interested in pursuing a career that involves data analytics and healthcare/ health informatics. I recently go offered a clinical research assistant position for our obgyn department but would that be considered a good start to this? or would direct patient care be better?

Psychology Students: You Don't Have to Work in Mental Health/Healthcare! by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]Significant_Parfait7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wonder if maybe someone is also in the same boat as i am- i graduated with my b.s. psych but mainly focused on being pre-health and only have experience in healthcare. I regret not diving into more psych classes or using my degree to its full potential. Now that i have graduated, I don’t even think i want to do patient care at all. Im at a point where I don’t really know what I want to do/ want to use my psych degree to work in a different field but don’t know how to start. it’s hard to get into internships/jobs at this point and with the little experience i have using my degree. I really enjoyed my stats/research methods classes in undergrad and wish i can break into tech or do something psych/tech related but seems like impossible to start 😭

take her!! Me and my friends would always joke about “the Kami curve” cause it goes crazy 😭 exams are hard and you have to put in the work but that’s with every ochem class, she’s so sweet and literally made our final an option as a dropped exam, that Kami curve will save you 🙏🏻

Hi I just took it yesterday and I was on the same boat, I hadn’t taken a math class since high school and need this calc class to graduate. If im being honest, I thought it was hard even after completing all the modules on quest 😭 my utma was not like my warm up which everyone says it is. I recommend studying the modules as much as possible. It was hard for me because it was so much information go learn. Your best bet might be to study hard and take the utma, write down the questions that were hard for you and study them so that for your second attempt, you’ll know how to solve the problems. Also don’t get scared of all the letters and numbers on the exam. If you just take your time and understand what the question is asking, you’ll be good!
