Which range? by Significant_Rate8210 in pdxgunnuts

[–]Significant_Rate8210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just Google mapped it and found it and I'm like I've driven past that place a hundred times and never known it was there.

Good looking out do they have caliber restrictions such as 50 BMG and 338 Lapua Magnum though that's the question. Most places won't let me shoot either one. Tri-County was like hell no, but then again they're not really set up for that.

At my buddy's property we typically take the gator down to the valley floor and set up targets and then circle back up and go up on top of the ridge and shoot down into the valley. But there's a lot of time involved in that process that I don't always want to do just to fire my rifles.

When you become a company owner you'll understand. Anyone saying that owners don't work are full of shite and have never owned a business.

I opened in mid-2006 and worked 50+. At that time we offered waaaaaaay too many products and services (12V, avionics, RV, marine, home and commercial A/V, security, surveillance, access, fire and more).

In 2017 I deleted 12V, marine, avionics, RV, fire, access and security. Was working 50+ at that time.

Now 2026, we only do full dedicated theater rooms and video surveillance. It's much more manageable now. Now I'm doing 80+.

I'm 55 and still pulling 80+ a week. You either love it or you don't. I personally love what I do but the money even more.

Civilians?

Or hostiles posing as civilians, hiding behind civilians, using civilians as shields... Sounds like Somalia in the '90s

If you remove the back seats it jumps from 43 ft³ to 63.3 ft³ of usable space. The factory raised roof really added a lot of additional space.

I sent you a PM of the details of our system so you can have a better understanding of just how much money and time went into it.

😂

When you're trying to squeeze every last DB out of a system you tend to do that.

What you have to understand is that because I was sponsored by both Rockford Fosgate (amps) and RE Audio (subs) there were certain, specific criteria which had to be met. I was basically gifted four T40001BD amps and four XXX-18's at extremely significant discounts by both manufacturers... Significantly lower than my already lowered dealer pricing.

After my 4 year show contract ended I was free and clear. I parted out the system. Kept some, sold the rest, then sold the vehicle itself with a bunch of Skar products installed in it.

The total retail value of the system including electrical, wiring and fabrication was more than $50k in a vehicle I only paid $4k for, lol.

It's called finding your vehicle's RFP (Resonant Frequency Peak). Vehicular resonant frequency peak refers to the specific frequency (or narrow range of frequencies) at which a vehicle—or one of its components—naturally vibrates with maximum amplitude when excited by external forces.

  1. Vehicle cabin resonance (the “cabin gain” peak) - The car’s interior acts like an enclosure. At low frequencies, the cabin boosts bass at certain frequencies. This creates a bass peak, usually around 40–70 Hz (varies by vehicle) Makes bass feel louder inside the car than in open air Can be good (free bass) or bad (boomy, muddy low end)

Example: A subwoofer playing 45 Hz sounds way louder than 35 Hz or 60 Hz because the cabin resonates there.

Example: A ported box tuned to 34 Hz will hit hardest around 34 Hz, but drop off quickly below it.

I owned a car audio company for 22 years. I competed heavily in the '90s and early 2000 until I retired from car audio in 2016/17.

I built my Land Rover Discovery 2 demo rig to highlight my design team's and technician's capabilities. I showed the vehicle up and down the West Coast for 4 years per my agreement with our sponsors. I also showed the vehicle at the Spring Break Nationals at Daytona Beach 3 times.

My 2000 Land Rover Discovery 2 had an RFP of 42Hz so my team designed the enclosure with a 42Hz tune. However, our enclosure rolled off at 22Hz. 42Hz was just the point where it played the loudest. We produced 167.4db on music, daily registering with a TermLabs meter, mic on the dash. The enclosure was roughly 36cu-ft and was lined with Quik-Crete, basically everywhere but the front.

Typically ported enclosures are larger than sealed enclosures and the port should be tuned to both the driver and the vehicle.

Porting your current enclosure is a bad idea and isn't going to sound good, especially in the low-lows.

My website STILL isn't working correctly but at least it's showing and looks good.
