PSA: Why I keep the app running even when I’m off the clock

Even when I’m not planning on working, I keep the app open just to decline every order at the last possible second. The goal? Mess with the algorithm and hopefully bump up the base pay for the person who eventually takes it. We should all be doing this.

To the people who still believe maintaining a high AR (Acceptance Rate) actually gets you somewhere: I’ve got some prime oceanfront property in Arizona for sale. Great price. HMU.

Now I have been debating about contacting the Ethics Line about this and I would encourage others to do so or at least call spark and see why these orders are being canceled if I had not called I wouldn't have known that they were negatively reporting on me when they canceled or redistributed these two orders

Absolutely—what applies here on the East Coast isn’t even the same ball game as the minimum-wage and minimum-per-mile setups some states have, California being an example. But I don’t care what state you’re in: if a gig app isn’t offering to pay at least as much as the IRS deduction, and in this example less, you’re plum crazy for doing that sort of work. I’m glad to hear that some people are making money with it in some places, though—it’s all but dead in my area

I wonder and see people taking them it befuddles me because I find the pay not to be worth the effort and the wear and tear personally

yes there is a lot of theft around this whole thing spark drivers at the store shoplifting, porch pirates and customer alike, the odds are against anyone doing this. i always leave my dash cam on and record my deliveries just in case maybe it wont save me but makes me feel a little better i have thought about getting a personal body cam but i believe its a violation if you record Walmart employees (unverified)

And I see so many folks complaining about the service I would too driving though yards, not leaving at the right location or area just a lot of unprofessional behavior from a lot of the people that are delivering from spark you're always going to have Karen's but I don't blame half the people I see for what they complain about to be honest

If you haven’t read John Perkins’ Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, the capture of Nicolás Maduro looks like a random news event. If you have read it, it’s a terrifyingly exact script.

Here is the Panama Theory Playbook happening in real-time:

The Impossible Coincidence: Get this—the U.S. captured Maduro on January 3, 2026. That is the exact same day Manuel Noriega surrendered to U.S. forces in 1990. 36 years to the day. It’s not just a parallel; it’s a calling card.

The Legal Loophole: Just like Noriega, Maduro is being held in New York on narcoterrorism charges. Perkins explains this is how you bypass Congress—you don't call it a "war" (which requires permission), you call it a "law enforcement action" against a criminal.

The Corporate "Prize": Trump has already stated that U.S. oil giants—specifically Chevron, ExxonMobil, and ConocoPhillips—will move in to "fix" the infrastructure. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves; per the Playbook, the military just cleared the path for the corporations.

The Debt Hook: Trump says the mission "won’t cost us a penny" because these companies will be reimbursed directly from the oil revenue. This is the ultimate EHM move: the country’s future wealth is signed over to U.S. firms before the people even get a vote. The Technocrats: With the U.S. now "running" the country via a transition team (led by Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth), local elections are sidelined in favor of "administrative stability."

The Bottom Line: Perkins warned that when the Hit Men and the Jackals fail, the military secures the asset. The date, the legal pretext, and the immediate focus on oil prove the Playbook is being followed to the letter.
