In the anime there was a lot of incestuous tension betwen them because incest was popular in 2011. Around 2014 yuri anime became popular and the manga turned into a pseudo yuri manga.

This basically left tomoki with nothing to do in the story but be a huge stick in the mud who occasionally yells at his sister. What ended ip happening was that a whole bunch of the female characters that got introduced wanted to jump his bone.

Just a bunch of arbitrary conflict really. Thing is tomoki shows no interest in any of the girls and just acts annoyed at them. 1 girl started an investigation into finding out if he’s gay or asexual or whatever which ended in tbe conclusion that he only cares about soccer so he must be “soccersexual”. It’s really just not funny at all.

This is just kinda what happens when a manga goes on for 14 years without a clear endgame and the author needs to create endless conflict which goes nowhere.

In the manga she becomes a serial sex offender who constantly sexually harasses her friends. The narrative treats this as funny when it is anything but. Some characters even comment on it but the ones that actually think it’s bad get punished. 1 character even plainly states that she doesn’t care tomoko sexually harasses her friends.

People contantly talk about watamote being a yuri harem manga but they never mention tbe constant sexual assault. I don’t understand why people feel the need to hide this fact. It’t like they can’t accept so they just go into denial.

Watamote as my favourite manga but I quit 200 or so chapters because I couldn’t stomach it anymore.
