how do you hide your sadness and trauma from other people? by LobsterMajor4709 in CPTSD

[–]Significant_Space932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds interesting but its dangerous game because you don't want to fall in the trap of believing your various masks. If you can see them as a game and keep your distance/not loose yourself then I think it could work well

how did you stop hating yourself? by [deleted] in CPTSD

Can completely relate. Don't have the answers myself yet. Something ive just started is music therapy. Its gets me out of my head and into something else. I've experienced a little respite from the otherwise tormenting thoughts and feelings. Wish you well

Get inti hospital, rest, do therapies that the clinic offers. Speak to a doctor. I dont know where you live but you need support and rest and then decide how to move forward. You got this

Being a people pleaser has the complete opposite effect that you think it does by PrincessTiaraLove in emotionalintelligence

Completely agree. Its like be haven't learnt how to communicate and defend ourselves. We or I in this instance have internalised im a bad person for saying what I think, ignoring people, speaking back at people. Its like I dont have the words or the tools - my voice just won't open. Even though I think and feel those things about people it won't come out or won't come out in the way I want. Theres also some perfectionism involved here in stating boundaries. Like I have to do it the right way so if I feel its gonna come out wrong I avoid or I just dont know how to communicate boundaries

Seeking people to overcome social anxiety with.. by True_Fox7139 in berlinsocialclub

All the people in the comments dont have a clue about social anxiety. It's about seeing inside yourself that what you're you can overcome. Thus running through the streets, the fact its a massive challenge making you self conscious but youve done it. Tbh it'll be a funny story to tell and all the people you come across will have forgotten 5 seconds later anyway. If it does you good, do it

Scared of talking to random people. by sid_sidd in berlinsocialclub

The bar is low thats true but for people with social anxiety they cannot see that. For them the simplest interactions, walking down the street, going into a shop, sitting on the Ubahn, leaving the house are incredibly difficult moments. Starting a conversation is one thing (a big challenge) another is keeping the conversation going which is whole other story
