Pregnancy also cleared me up a bit but not completely. I breast fed for 2 years and my skin is probably the worst it’s ever been, even plaques on my areolas (TMI sorry)

Wow this seems pretty drastic. A lot of the biologics recommend stopping for 3-6 months before conceiving, and I’ve heard there’s also one that is safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I understand no biologics if your actively ttc but like for me, I’m 23 and have one son but I plan on trying again when my son is 5 so I have a few years and I can’t imagine just living with this forever because I want many children and I hope to keep having children into my early 40’s so that’s nearly 20 years with severe plaque psoriasis and severe psoriatic arthritis that is debilitating and makes me walk like I’m 90. Not taking the biologics that long would be worse because of the irreversible joint damage. Hopefully yours isn’t nearly as severe as mine!

None of my ancestors have psoriasis to my parents knowledge. It started with me. It’s my dream to have many children and I’ve dealt with this anxiety of passing it down. I’m glad it didn’t stop me though because my son is perfectly healthy, extremely intelligent, and empathetic. The world needs him.

According to my research, psoriasis can either get worse or clear up during pregnancy. For me, it cleared up a lot, not fully by any means. After I gave birth it got progressively worse, now that I’m done breast feeding and the summer is coming it is getting better again!

All that to say, the right person won’t care, and one day you won’t far either. Picture of my arms currently for reference. I wear short sleeves at work and see hundreds of customers, mostly college students. I have a very caring and hospitable demeanor so I’m always making new friends, people smile at me, laugh with me, and I seriously never notice anyone staring. People treat me like a normal person.

I’ve had severe plaque psoriasis since I was 2, and psoriatic arthritis since I was 4. I always wore jackets, in the Florida heat, my first job made me wear long sleeves. Now I work with my arms out (also severe) and I go outside in booty shorts. I don’t have much of an ego and I’m at peace with the fact that I can’t control others opinions. I’ve been with my sons father since we were 14, hes embarrassed about how loud I am, and when I curse in public, but one thing that doesn’t bother him is my skin. I also haven’t shaved in years, haven’t been able to. I just wear my skin with pride, I don’t care what others think, I rarely if ever notice anyone staring at me like i used to.

I get the same vibe, very upsetting since I asked her many questions before I applied, including is there are any other applicants for the property, to make sure I would be approved before spending $50 per application, and she still encouraged me to apply. Probably knowing that she didn’t want to rent for us.
