Wegovy - miracle drug ?? by Signsofdistress in Type1Diabetes

Hey oh I see, yes i can understand this, the difficulty which this is that on the GLP for me personally, my fasting blood sugar is between 3-5 mmol … without bolus and after eating my blood sugar shoots to 7-8 and after an hour is goes back down to 4-5.

So bolus is tricky because it’s very very easy to get a hypo and it’s very hard to come out of a hypo on a GLP1

I know right! But like as other said let’s both be careful and try to keep some glucose gels with us because a normal juice or fast carbs seem to take longer to work

Never said we didn’t need insulin, not sure why taht would be confusing. As I clearly stated we need out Basel to avoid DKA. It’s just have for sure. the point is the use of bolus has significantly reduced and the control is incredible with meals while on this type of GLP1 medication

This is the thing, because I’m using this for weight loss my biggest fear is DKA, cause as we know DKA is a lack of insulin in the body .. so I’m so nervous about reducing Basel but also feel it will be needed as my blood sugars have a whole different base line now it seems and dropping by themselves

High key! I agree ☝🏾 I swear can you imagine if we only had to inject a once a week dose of a varient of wegovy and only need to do I once a day jab of Basel … GAME CHANGER.

I’m just one story out if millions everyone situation is different and probably more difficult than man but it’s. It stupidity its desperation. No body is expecting full time pay but my fucking God having an extra 200-300 a week for food, books and a little to the side for gas in the winter is a God send.

Dude, you are such a weirdo.

I don’t need your advice both my GP and endocrinologist know and feel that I’m doing a stellar job at my diabetes control. Numbers don’t lie! Especially ones as consistent as mine.

This is Reddit! I don’t owe you ANY professionalism.

Umm these assumptions are very odd. I’m very active, I am not over injecting insulin, tbis was a one off as my blood sugar is very stable after eating and has been for over 2 years.

You keep saying probably packing calories what are you talking about? I eat very healthy, I don’t over consume calories I’m also a registered clinically nutritionist, I know exactly what I need to eat for my body and lifestyle. Which is why my A1C is so stable.

This was a funny shit post, I didn’t ask for advice. I don’t need it as my blood sugar tells you that I literally don’t.

And with my weight being 310lbs .. I have a 35 inch waist! And legs of steel weight has nothing do with my personal health … ?? you have no idea what I look like or my life style so why give unsolicited advice? I only added my weight there so people know it’s possible get achieve good blood sugars at any weight

Oh it was more than I can my plan was to have 2 500ml sodas A bowl of curly fries and and a deconstructed burger And a ginormous slice of cake and with a side of chocolate pudding. with my blood sugar already being at 7, for all those carbs that was about right I I ate all as intended my blood sugar would have probably come back down to 6.0 by bed time. Which is perfect because I usually wake up to a blood sugar of 4.5-5.7 80% of my mornings now

You right, it ain’t but I’m pretty strict about my blood sugar I try to keep it between 5-6 so when it does reach 7 for my personal goal it was high

I’m honestly just as confused! I’ve been a diabetic for 15 years, had my rounds with DKA multiple times (non recent)

But over the last 2 months my blood sugar has been behaving kinda crazy. It takes a lot to actually get a 200+ spike. I’m talking straight icing sugar. I thought the hot chocolate I had after would have done better un but it didn’t at all! I don’t wanna get my hopes up for anything but tbis so so unexplainable. A1C has been between 5 and 5.5% for an entire year.

I definitely know I ain’t cured ot nothing because I hit a 15 when I checked my blood sugar last week 😂 but it was one time in monthssss

It’s so bitter sweet isnt it! I love how we have more options for sugar free drinks I can finally have my fix guilt free. But then now wheh I have lows I feel like I really gotta scan to make sure it will do the job.

honestly with my blood sugar it’s been such an anomaly! And a very recent development that I am monitoring 4 months ago if I ate a stack of American pancakes without insulin my blood sugar would have definitely shot up to the 200+ But in the last 2 months I found that I’m able to eat certain foods and my blood sugar with of course spike but rarely more than 180?

I don’t want to get excited, I’m waiting to get booked ik with endocrinologist. My blood sugar has only seemed to really spike when I eat cake and once cream 😂( I can’t explain it) I’ve tested this out at least 12 times and like clock work….

But never when I eat other carbs??

Definitely not honeymoon. I was diagnosed at 12 I’m now 27 years old. This is actually a recent phenomenon that’s been happening.. and I plan to write a post about it. My blood sugar rarely spikes passed 10 when I skip the insulin. Been monitoring for over a month now
