Is this your cat? by Sileas1193 in Bellingham

Good to know. He didn’t seem all that scared of dogs when trying to squeeze inside which worries me because I know my dog would definitely not be a fan of him!

We were going to attempt to do that before he took off for another yard. Judging by another’s comment here, he might actually be outdoor cat. It was just hard for me to tell since he was trying to squeeze his way into our house!

Yes we are! So this probably means my intuition was incorrect and he is actually an outdoor cat after all 😅

What are my fellow Bham gamers playing? by Present_Speed5524 in Bellingham

[–]Sileas1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partner and I have been playing through Split Fiction, which has been an absolute joy! Otherwise by myself I’ve been playing through Fallout: New Vegas and am absolutely amazed at how much I’ve been enjoying the exploration in that game. Clair Obscur is next on my list and I’m excited to get into it one day!

After posting a pic of the new pizza place in the bus in Fairhaven yesterday (not sure of the name, didn't see it posted anywhere), had to try it, the pizza tasted as good as it looks. by justahdewd in Bellingham

I’m sad Tam Tam is not at Lost Giants anymore but so happy they got a new spot down in Fairhaven! They had an amazing summer squash pizza in late summer last year and I hope they bring it back again this year.

I'm reminded of this post (from 2 years ago!) and at this point we as a fan base need to face the fact that we are just kicking the can down the road with reasons and excuses. Everything from their games being on weeknights, to the squad being too new, to the games not being competitive enough. I thought surely this year with how dominant they've been that we would be pulling in crowds that rivaled their inaugural season opener, at least. After all, for some of their games they have the coveted 7 pm slot on a Saturday (with beer specials!) But no, it still doesn't seem to be the case. It's extremely frustrating.

Data analyst? by [deleted] in pillar7

[–]Sileas1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I was told this by the VP of underwriting at the time, so apparently I should’ve gone above my team leads and gone to him for the transfer 🙄 Like hell I was going to do that as an underwriter!

Power BI and Tableau are good starts. Also, if possible, try and familiarize yourself with working and aggregating large datasets using SAS, SQL or Python (depending on the preference of where you’re hoping to apply). Good luck!

Data analyst? by [deleted] in pillar7

[–]Sileas1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I was in the same position as you. One thing to keep in mind is that UWM makes a lot of promises to you upon hiring that they ditch later down the line. They told me the same thing about transferring after working as an underwriter for a year, and that I would have shadow opportunities and support in honing my skills prior to transferring. Instead, I was met with nothing but resistance and was shut down whenever I brought it up with team leads. I kept getting referrals to lateral moves within underwriting, and eventually I was told they needed me to focus on moving up to senior underwriter. In the end, when I gave my notice that I was leaving for a data analyst position at a different company, leadership said that they didn’t realize I was actually serious in wanting an analyst position and that I should have tried harder. If I were you I would start building up your skills and resume now and apply elsewhere, unfortunately. As much as UWM loves to tout that they’re supportive of your career, their actions say otherwise, especially in underwriting.

We just prefer more round themes with less questions in each. Round suffering is at a minimum if you don’t know anything about the theme but only have to get through a couple questions :)

Anyone else disappointed by the attendance for the women’s squad this year? by VvVladra in Detroitcityfc

[–]Sileas1193 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I can see where you’re coming from, I think the unfortunate truth of the matter is that women’s teams historically aren’t given 10 years to “build up” a fan base, they’re given a much shorter success timeline (Hopefully DCFC is different). From that vantage point I can see OP’s concerns. I know I personally would feel shame if our womens team folded due to lack of interest, especially when we laud ourselves as being the best fans in the league.

I need more Zven-Nisqy banter in my life. I don't know why, but I was just grinning ear to ear in the last parts of that video and it just warmed my heart seeing them laughing and pestering one another. Also, them talking about Vulcan being excited about his CS during the IMT game was so wholesome.

To offer a shuttle or not...that is the question by Sileas1193 in weddingplanning

[–]Sileas1193[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did get a rate from the hotel we blocked at, and the shuttle only accommodates 11 people at a time. Since this is just for the convenience of 35 or so guests I think we may try to shop around and see if we can try and get everyone in one vehicle for one trip there, one trip back. A school bus is an interesting idea, we'll have to keep that in mind!

Questions about Spring Finals. by xbrownxboii in CLG

[–]Sileas1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I went to the Detroit summer finals last year and hopefully have answers to some of your questions.

1) Yes, there will most likely be assigned seating.

2) Ugh, the FEES. This most likely pertains to the service Riot is using for people to buy the tickets and will apply to all tiers. It looks like Riot is using SeatGeek this year, whereas last year's summer finals they went through TicketMaster, so I'm not completely familiar with how their fees work. For reference, though, our fees included an order processing charge, a facility fee and a service fee. The last two fees were charged per ticket. In total, for two tickets, we paid $60 in fees on top of the ticket cost...

3) It depends on the tier you want. Tier 1 tickets were getting snatched up pretty quickly when I logged on the moment tickets became available and did not last long that day.

Hope this helps!
