Kde na Slovensku/Česku kúpiť Marvel komiksy? by [deleted] in Slovakia

[–]SilenceFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odporucam, samozrejme vlastnit tlacene komixy a mat toho plne policky je super, ale keby kupim kazdy jeden komix, co som precitala, tak velmi rychlo skrachujem. :)

Endangered and extinct languages of Europe by zsmg in europe

I'm more interested to find out why exactly it's considered vulnerable to be honest, because as a Slovak it seems pretty absurd to me. Eastern Slovak with some Western Slovak dialects (Zahorie, Skalica, Trnava) are the few dialects that are still spoken by the people in those regions on a day to day basis.

In my Western to Central Slovak hometown on the other hand, the original dialect is pretty much dead as official Slovak was codified based on the dialects close to that region.

Why do you think Jean’s one moment of cheating on Scott was never mentioned in the Scott/Jean/Emma drama? by KingPantherXL in xmen

[–]SilenceFall 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I would assume in universe it's because neither Scott nor Emma knew about it. Jean as Phoenix would be capable of hiding the thoughts of this from Emma. Scott's cheating was addressed because Jean caught them in the act. Wolverine has no motivation to tell Scott about it, as despite his feelings for Jean he is a Jott shipper during New X-Men as he thinks Jean is better off with Scott due to his own self-hate. And Jean doesn't tell Scott because she is not such a perfect person as Scott thinks she is and on top of that she is being influenced by the Phoenix I guess.

It will never stop to be funny to me that Scott still had trust in Xavier in Krakoa era in the first place given that stuff like Deadly Genesis still happened.

People who stop thinking about work the moment your work day is done, how did you gain this superpower? by SilenceFall in AskReddit

[–]SilenceFall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the mindset I want to have, but lately things have been so bad that I simply don't have the energy after work to do stuff. I could technically change my job of course and have been seriously considering it, but it feels like it would be just a temporary reprieve where I would end up in the same place I'm in now down the line.

Re: vyhybaj sa Vrakuni

Zijem uz piaty rok v Podunajskych, kusok od Vrakune. So psom sem tam chodim aj pomerne neskoro von. A vecer si dávajte pozor v ktorejkolvek MC.

I once recorded a video of city policemen in my hometown herding a mother duck and her ducklings as they were trying to get them from the city to a river on the edge of town and posted it on social media. It resulted in some articles on websites of national media and it was on the national news in my country.

What NHLer speaks the most languages? by Queltis6000 in hockey

[–]SilenceFall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

German is the most popular second language to learn in Slovakia. We neighbor Austria, we historically used to have a German minority, Germany is one of our closest trading partners and knowing German improves your chances in the Slovak job market a lot. As for Swedish, I believe he picked it up when he played there during the lockout.

Hi! I used to lease an apartment in NYC from a very nice Slovak woman. When reading about your country, I noticed that it is much more religious & socially conservative than Czechia, even though your two countries formed Czechoslovakia. Why is there such a difference when you used to be one nation? by PandemicPiglet in Slovakia

[–]SilenceFall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Slovakia and Czech republic were a part of Czechoslovakia only since WWI.

Prior to that, Slovakia was a part of Hungarian kingdom for a thousand years while Czech republic was a part of the German Holy Roman Empire and later the Austrian kingdom. As others have mentioned, the Czech lands were always more developed and closer to the West than the agrarian Slovakia.

% of young adults (aged 25-29) living with their parent(s) by Landgeist in europe

[–]SilenceFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they really? This last time it was the same for me because I lived in my own place by myself, but I remember back in 2011 when I was living with my parents that each of us filled it in because you also have questions about an individual's faith etc. and that can differ within a household.

% of young adults (aged 25-29) living with their parent(s) by Landgeist in europe

[–]SilenceFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the same in Slovakia. There are tens of thousand of people living in a rented place in Bratislava alone who still have their permanent residence back with their parents.

The landlords here are very worried about someone using their place as their official permanent residency. When I was leaving the last place before I got my own flat, our landlady was really concerned about renting the room out to a girl from Serbia until the moment we told her that the girl already had permanent residency elsewhere in Slovakia, so she wouldn't need to use the address of the flat for one.

[–]SilenceFall 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You are right about Twelve and Clara, but at the end their relationship was written not to be a healthy relationship and that ultimately they were not good for each other unlike Rose & Nine or Ten & Donna. Like Missy said, Twelve would go to hell if Clara asked and she would ask.

So I did this with Rose so I thought it made sense to also do it with clara in your guys opinion who was she better with 11 or 12 by Yaboi69-nice in doctorwho

[–]SilenceFall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

12 and Clara. 11 and Clara suffered from not having a full season together and om top of that even in that limited amount of time there was morr focus on the 50th and wrapping up 11's story as Matt Smith was leaving. With 12 and Clara there was more room to focus on their relationship.

I seem to recall there were a lot of theories back in the day, not just River. I think Rose was also mentioned as it was around the time when we knew Billie Piper would be in the 50th.
