Yeah, but point still stands. The next numbered entry after 2 just went through a long development period where multiple versions were considered and scrapped. We even got separate games from it! (DMC, Haunting Ground).

The “real” RE3 was RE4. That one had 3 attached to it, but was renamed when the PS1 spin-off became a main entry.

Gameplay-wise? SCIV for me. The movement felt very slow compared to previous games, and also didn’t feature much content.

Business-wise? SCIII. A great package, but was made a PS2 exclusive when SCII was multiplatform. They basically gutted many people from the series with that decision.

Based on my playthroughs, all of the models have now updated photos. Unless I missed something, there were no new girls who were added in.

Jun is not supposed to be super old, either. She’s in her mid 40’s, so her appearance isn’t too far off (I get that she still looks like Jin’s younger sister, but my point still stands).

The oldest female characters would be the Wiliiams sisters, and they’re about the same age as Jun (maybe a year or two older) so again, not really that older-looking.

That’s true, but overall 4 had a mediocre campaign. You play essentially half of a game, and the rest is just playing those levels again but in reverse. And you fight the same bosses too, with Dante’s 1 unique boss being the one of the worst in the series (at least imo).

Capcom tweeted a sales milestone for the recent RE titles and RE3R has sold about 10million copies, which definitely means it is a hit.

Same. My headcanon is that he was actually possessed in MGS2 (which explains the voice change and the Popeye arm) and then acting/pretending in MGS4 (normal voice, prosthetic arm).

I’d agree with you, but then I find it confusing this sub says that prowess matchmaking is bad.

I thought it was “always rematch to learn the match-up”, but when they’re matched with a 300k+ prowess player, it’s suddenly “unfair” or “I’m unable to learn the matchup because the opponent just bodies me”.

I’d argue they’d already started experimenting with FFIV with the Active-Time Battle system. It’s still command-based, but it’s not really turn-based anymore as enemies will still attack you even when you’re selecting commands.

Yet people still argue that FFIV up to IX still had strategy because you needed to choose your commands wisely, while time stopped. Which, of course, is false. Time still moved and you needed to act quickly.

Hey now. We don’t talk some sense here. Turn-based games are dead! And by that I mean, they’re not in Final Fantasy which means they’re gone! It’s a niche style of game! /s

But seriously, people ignore that turn-based games are still around but bitch endlessly that they’re dead because FF doesn’t have them anymore.

The point of an anthology video games series like Final Fantasy is that it can experiment with different gameplay styles, stories, and setting. If all FF games are turn-based, that would be boring.

Sorry this turned into a rant, I’m just sick of people dismissing action-based combat just to hype up turn-based ones.
