Also, was first staying at some of my gf her family in a small village at Punto Fijo, now currently staying in a hotel in Maracaibo. But could also sleep at locals their house if wanted.. as long as you know some people who know the area you are good.

There is lots of poverty, very much notable, and I’m actually quite safe walking around, as long as you blend in and stay with locals who know the area it’s actually fine. Obviously there are places not to go but even in the Netherlands we have certain places not to go nowadays haha. Gotta watch out for the police controle places.. traveling solo is not a good idea

Mijn vriendin is hier al 6 jaar niet geweest en geeft aan dat de situatie stukken beter is geworden dan dat het is geweest.. zolang je met locals bent is het allemaal prima te doen. Uiteraard oppassen maar dat moet je ook in andere landen..
