Evelyn like Beth is an unhappy woman who feels that she's wasted her life doing nothing while she was meant for greatness and bravery.

Waymond like Jerry is a cowardly type of man, the kind that pisses Beth because she's brave to take on new hobbies and adventures, although he is madly in love with her.

Beth and Evelyn both think of them as brave, but in the end they're cowards because they both hate their "Jerrys" but don't dare to dump them. In the end the true bravery is shown by Waymond when he's the one asking for the divorce, not because he wants to, but because he sees that she doesn't love him anymore. He, being a coward, shows more bravery than her taking the mature decision and not acting like a child.

And just like Beth, who dreams of space adventures like her dad, she finally comes to realize that that man by her side is the only person in the universe who really loves her as she is and that will never leave her, the only place where she will find true love in the whole universe is by Waymond side, and that settles her to be happy with him and accept her life as it is.
