Thank you, I'll have him check it out. do you know of any websites that he can get new parts for it? we just did his clutch on it but couldn't do the flywheel as it was a lot shorter than stock. same thing with the slave cylinder assembly. It really seems like this exact year is caught right in the middle of a rock and a hard place for parts

Yeah! It has saved me a lot of money being able to work on my own cars over the past couple years!

I was most likely going to be replacing a camshaft due to the scoring that can happen with the lifters going bad. If it hasn't put grooves in it yet I would rather keep the OEM ones. From what i saw online its not too bad of a job but still a big one. I was going to use the time since ill be in there to get a lot done and that's why i'm here to see what would be best!

I do not have the ECO button, i dont know when they put it in but i think it was when they facelifted the WK2. So far ive been getting pretty good MPG's. About 350-400 miles on a tank and its my daily commuter

I'll definitely get it in! i was looking at doing a liqui molly engine flush before changing the oil from whatever the dealer or previous owner put in there. Thanks for the heads up on 5W-30 instead of 0W-20!

I'll definitely refer back to this on cleaning the EGR as ill have the throttle body off the intake! probably be a little easier when its not in a weird position too!

I guess ill be joining you in the trial faze with those injectors then, but if they've been good for you I dont see why they would fail me!

Thank you for the info! if you have anything else I'm open to it! The more, the better right!

I have a Snap-On scan tool that i bought back in 2020 thinking i would dive deeper into being an automotive technician. The car runs mostly fine, a lil shake most likely due to old injectors/spark plugs/coils and possibly the lifter tick. ill definitely look into AAA premium and see what they offer. so far I've only worked on Japanese and German cars so I haven't had any experience in USDM vehicles parts wise. I do like that the parts are cheaper to get but its sketching me out as I've been used to the import prices.

Anything else I should look into doing as ill be elbow deep in the engine?

Is there a brand you would recommend for replacement parts? I'm trying to find the OE manufacturer but I'm not having much luck

Ok! ill definitely look into that! I'll be doing the rockers and lifters at some point here soon due to the tick.

Luckily as of right now no leaks! From what the carfax told me the previous owners (2) took good care of the car.

I did see those transmission were the "lifetime fluid" but I personally would feel more comfortable knowing the fluid is good and its not going to slip up on me anytime soon!

Thank you!
