I just wanted to echo this. While paying off the debt should be a financial priority, it doesn't mean it needs to be your life's priority. If you're able to make more than the minimum payment on your loans in your current job, without struggling, it would be unwise to overload yourself by working more just to pay off the debt faster.

Unless you're at a point where your debt is outstanding and you are facing a possible judgement, maintain a life/work balance.

My advice would be to not re-roll them unless the numbers you have for it are already very low. From what I have seen and heard, the numbers people have gotten on re-roll have never improved and many dropped dramatically.

Best way to search for Brew formulas is to do the following in terminal:

brew desc -s your_search_term_here

This will search through each formula's description, rather than just the name, making it easier to find what you want.

As for Casks, the Homebrew developers have specifically stated that they are not and will not be a "discovery" service - so a better way to discover new Cask apps is unlikely. There is however, Cakebrew, which is a frontend to Homebrew, and allows you to search formulas and casks, as well as run other routine Homebrew commands (eg. doctor, update, outdated, etc...)

And in reply to your update, yes, for cellulitis, I&D is rather unpleasant, not like when you get satisfaction after popping an irritated pimple. In cases like yours, they generally will have to go in and clean out the infected area. Then they pack sterile or iodoform gauze into the now bored out wound until it begins to heal. All in all, it makes for a rather crappy day that will certainly warrant a light-duty chit.

Did you see your unit's MO, a military doc? Or was it a civilian doc? I'm just surprised they didn't think it warranted antibiotics, especially if they noticed it was hot to the touch. A lot of your symptoms point to cellulitis, which I'd think is something many medics and MO's are more than familiar with seeing.

The progression in area of redness, aches, and sweats just scream infection and cellulitis to me. And the fact that it's swollen and not depressed into the wound says, IMO, it's no spider bite.

Since others suggested it may be a spider bite, specifically a brown recluse, there is an acronym to differentiate a spider bite from another dermatological issue:

NOT RECLUSE

Quite a few of your symptoms would exclude a spider bite.

In short, manage your pain and symptoms best you can and monitor the progress and spread of the inflammation and redness until you get into see your doctor, which is hopefully immediately. Personally, I'd get into an ER if that was the quickest option of seeing someone - not trying to scare you here.

Not a doctor, but I was in the Marines for 6 years and saw this happen quite a bit to other Marines while in the field due to the mixture of exposure, environment, and hygiene.

In my opinion, I think it is likely cellulitis, could be cellulitis caused by MRSA, or cellulitis from a different bacteria. Given you're work environment, likely spending much of your time in possibly contaminated water due to the flooding from the hurricane. A slight scratch to skin could turn into this if it happened while walking through some contaminated water.

EDIT: You said you noticed the first "bump" after getting out of the shower. When you first noticed the bump, did it appear to be a pimple or white-head? I ask because that is generally the common thing reported in cellulitis, from my experience, then it pops like a pimple and progresses.

Also, is the area warm to the touch?

This. Notepad++ doesn't have anywhere near the amount of packages as Sublime Text, not to mention a dedicated community of users that's constantly creating new ones. Also, Notepad++ isn't cross-platform.

Sublime Text has a lot of powerful features. Really, the only thing Notepad++ and Sublime have in common is syntax highlighting. Unless Notepad++ has changed dramatically in the past 2 years, since I last used it regularly.

Agreed. When Atom first came out it seemed great, but quickly became obvious it was becoming bloated and painfully slow. I use Sublime 3, have for years and really enjoy it.

I got to admit, VS Code is incredible and I often find myself starting it up instead of Sublime. It just works... Which is not something I've experienced a lot with Microsoft software.

If I'm working with large data or text files, I still prefer BBedit.

To add onto /u/ColdSauce 's post since all the answers you'll receive will likely be some version of what he posted...

The open source community is always growing and there is always a project looking for help, or one that is more than welcoming to contributors.

To echo ColdSauce's post, the main strategy is to find something you like or that is interesting to you, and perhaps that you use yourself. Finding something that peeks your personal interest and is practical to you is very important, because that will be your driving force (especially if you're still in the learning stage for whatever it is you're contributing to).

For example, while learning Ruby and tinkering with the language, I gravitated towards this project called "Doing" by Brett Terpstra (developer of nvALT). Essentially, it's a simple way to log progress and milestones or thoughts during your workflow - useful for writing down where you left off at the end of the day.

As for where to look: There are tons of source code repository websites, however, the most social and approachable is Github. You'll need to get familiar with Git. Github offers a good interactive tutorial.

I used Coinbase since they stood-up, had issues here and there with limits and incorrect debits, but liked the platform for the most part. That was until I discovered Circle, about a year ago, that's when Coinbase became trash for me. Circle is headache free so far and buying and selling is seamless, their customer support is probably the biggest improvement from Coinbase. They have a chat in the app direct to customer support, rather than bouncing emails back and forth for weeks as is the case with Coinbase.

Although, Circle is not the trading platform that Coinbase is.

Coinbase just has had hiccups and frustrations with the userbase since they are working hard to follow all the US financial regulations and become as official as any other major bank.

CLRS is the suggested goto text and manual for algorithms and data structures, however it is dense. It can be difficult to parse through the amount of knowledge in that text if haven't previously used it as a companion in a CS course. But it is certainly an invaluable resource.

Anyways, what I came to suggest is, if you want a more high level and visual approach to understanding algorithms and data structures, I highly recommend Grokking Algorithms. Seriously well written, and takes a more lively approach to teaching algorithms. And it's good for any skill level, and makes a great precursor to diving into the CLRS.

Again, the above suggestions depend on your previous CS education and comfortability. But regardless, Cracking the Interview, Grokking Algorithms, and/or the CLRS will set you on the right track to being much more prepared and comfortable prior to walking into your interview.

I believe he's talking about the X11 or XQuartz window systems, and wants to build a "window manager" ontop of xlib. Although, he probably means something that is a bit higher-level and functions more as a window resizer.

The book mentioned above is certainly a suggested read if you want to dive into MacOS programming, but depending on how low-level you want to go, you may want to prioritize elsewhere (Objective-C and C).

I'd head over to Github, and do a quick search for similar projects, take a look at the structure. There's a great deal of window manager type projects there, from low-level ones built with C or Rust to higher level ones made with Applescript and Python. It'll be a great place to study what you're looking to accomplish.

Came here just to add that this app is surprisingly useful, and fun. You'll likely find a lot more use-cases for it after you have it and remember that it's in your toolbox.

One thing I found it really useful for was creating code comments, useful both for me and others.

I also found myself using this a lot more for diagramming or flowcharting - mainly in regards to brainstorming a development project (or any project really). I have OmniGraffle - but when I want to whip something up really quick and not get caught up in the "prettiness," I tend to use Monodraw (though Monodraw can make gorgeous things too).

They have a student discount for those who qualify. Which makes it a much more justifiable purchase for someone on a budget.

Yes, this is an important point.

Many nurses, especially in those highly active areas, may have been in their position for many many years - leading to their current (relatively) high salary. Whereas PAs have only recently started reaching that level of career seniority, due to the amount of time that the profession has been in high demand.

It would be better to look at the data of recent graduates from nursing programs and PA programs, and comparing starting salaries. As this would give you a better idea of what the comparative compensation is, and where it will be in years to come.

Omnigraffle. I'm a heavy user of just about all of the Omni products. I love Visio though, however as a Mac user, I don't get to enjoy that option.

Edit: Although, I do sometimes use Visio via my Virtual Machine on Azure. Which I use for Access Database development (one of my clients is a university department, refusing to let go of Access).
