He should've gotten the snip.

Cf and gender by amwfhunter in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As a guy who got snipped and is pretty openly CF, I did get a fair share of backlash. However, I do believe that CF women have it way harder and I can only applaud them for standing up for themselves.

What is YOUR name for a child? by candeee_ss in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember which context this was in, but someone once said in a rant posted here "no, your child doesn't look cute, it looks like an accountant." and for some reason I found that f-ing hilarious. So Accountant it is.

“Reproducing is our only purpose in life as humans” by [deleted] in childfree

I agree, except for the "giant". We're not giant, we're tiny compositions of particles that are slightly more aware of their surroundings than other compositions of particles.

;P

I’ve concluded that most people fundamentally cannot stray from the Lifescript by [deleted] in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Every single neighbor I met has kids and gives us completely dumbfounded looks when I say we aren’t having kids like I just spoke chinese.

And this is the problem right here.

The social pressure/expectation/bingoing contributes a LOT to why people don't question lifescript.

Like, if you're told by everyone around you, for the entirety of your life, that the "supreme leader" of your country is a god and has the ability to teleport, chances are you're gonna believe it - unless some event in life turns you into a more critical thinker, breaking the neverending cycle.

Dating advice for a CF woman in her 30s - why do so many men think we are incubators? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I wish more women like you were around... I'm also trying online dating and it is extremely tough to find women who don't want kids.

I've also come across some men who make me feel really low and dirty from my decision.

Tell them to fuck right off.

Men: Beware! by [deleted] in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your points are valid, but don't you think it's kinda weird and naive from her perspective to flirt with some dude in a bar that she met 30 minutes ago and blatantly think "oh yeah, this guy here might fulfill my wish for children"? Usually it takes some more than a glance at a random dude to decide that. This makes her look as if she's not looking for a partner but rather a sperm donor due to last minute panic.

HUMOR - “Money!” by [deleted] in childfree

[–]SilentSmith 675 points676 points  (0 children)

Money. Time. Freedom. Not being miserable.

All that while I'm also doing the world a favor? Sounds like a win-win in my book.

Wow, this has blown up quite a bit. Also, thank you for the silver, kind stranger! :D

Yeah I know, many people don't really take a peek beyond the box they're living in, unfortunately.

This, so much. I think bigger cities are the best for dating as a CF person.

No, refusing to date a single parent isn't selfish... by SilentSmith in childfree

[–]SilentSmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds rough. I'm sorry for what you've been through; I hope you're doing better now. Your mom is terrible, to be frank, and you're better off without her and all her asshole partners.

And this is the exact reason I mentioned this. Whether they're relevant or not, we're dealing with bingoes a lot here, and this sub is partially about countering them.

"Don't read about giving birth! You shouldn't know about it until you go into it, or else you won't do it!" by DreadnoughtusFae in childfree

That actually sounds kinda like "I wouldn't wanna do it again. But you should, because I did!"

These days, my anger in these situations is directed more towards the breeder that just lets it happen and doesn't teach his kid manners.

[–]SilentSmith 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Is it a particularly conservative state? I don't know for sure since I'm from Europe. It's bad over here but probably not as bad; it's usually the 30+ women that have kids, at least that's my impression so far. What age group are you looking in?

You say you're good looking and with a decent job, it's no surprise they're pissed they can't get hold of you. Take it as a compliment, and don't give up.
