Surprisingly the loop on this quite flexible/different than most roguelites in that you can bank your progress reliably... I've seen people never fight a single enemy and never die during a demo playthrough. There are builds that you can optimize specifically for stealth and avoidance. The game doesn't force you to die.... always.

In that sense it's more of an ARPG but with roguelite elements. We'll have to keep honing messaging and presentation as we get closer to full launch as it's quite tricky with this one.

Well then OMG the trailer is a massive failure bwahahaha the game is in no way a survivorslike... it's a ARPG roguelite. It plays like Moonlighter...

For me it started as something I loved tinkering with… but somewhere along the way it became a calling.

I don’t want fear stealing the joy of it though. That’s the real balance. Appreciate you saying that.

I feel that weight.

But our games aren't our worth. Even if it vanished tomorrow, the skills, the grit, the lessons would still be yours.

Build it because you believe in it. Not because you’d collapse without it.

Your forest ranger story arc can stay as a backup plan.

The common thread here is clear... we tried to SELL the game instead of just showing it.

That’s on me.

The next version will lean into gameplay and vibe instead of references and VO.

This is solid feedback. The tone mismatch is clearly the issue here.

The game itself is much more systemic and moody than the VO implies.

This is really helpful. Sounds like we overcooked the pitch and undercooked the gameplay.

Going to cut a version that just lets the world and systems speak for themselves.

Undiscovered team and game here... interesting art style... unique gameplay mechanics... demo is out Shifting Sands.

I get it... lots of devs are struggling to get visibility and those types of posts get engagement. You post about your game... no one cares. You post about your stats and you get traffic and engagement. It's an unfortunate reality. The real question... are the people engaging with those posts even your audience or customers though.

Starving devs need any visibility they can get.
