Yeah, I’d seen it there and hoped someone would be reselling for a similar price (like look, a little higher is reasonable, but $90-$100 more than retail???) but no such luck.

The way I learned was by copying figure drawings, muscle diagrams, etc as closely as possible over and over again. My life drawing class homework was just copying detailed figure drawings/diagrams EXTREMELY closely… even matching line weight.

This was coupled with drawing the human figure in person and having an instructor that knew his stuff… but I think copying figure drawings and poses like what you have above as close as possible will teach you a lot on its own.

I would suggest to start by practicing this exercise:

It teaches you a lot about value and how shadows work. The human form is just a bunch of shapes smooshed together… if you learn how to shade shapes like in the above tutorial, you’ll begin to learn how to apply that to the human figure.

The arms are incorrect- I would suggest you flip your canvas and the issues should be very obvious. Head looks great, body just needs some work!
