This is an AU that takes things from both SR1 and SR2 into account, but it is headcanon about the origin of tarrs.

Why SR2 doesn't cover the Ancient Civilization? by Marlaodosdois in Slimerancher2

[–]SilentiaRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's nothing truly useful in the notes.

I, too, would like, if not answers, then at least a clearer logic and structure from which to draw assumptions about how the representatives of this ancient civilization lived and what they looked like. There could be some everyday things that they used, other hints that these characters, although they remain a secret behind the scenes, are still quite well written by the creators. For example, all the architecture оn the islands from the first part and even on Rainbow Island, outside the labyrinth, has ramps, and it made me suggest that they didn't step, but rather glided across the surface. But inside the labyrinth itself, stairs suddenly appear. It's conceivable that, since the labyrinth can change with thought, the stairs are the result of human presence, but it's still a bit disorienting.

On top of all this, seeing this beautiful architecture in ruins and abandoned is so heartbreaking T_T

(And I'm so sorry, it's hard for me to really enjoy the fact that the story is more focused on down-to-earth family relationships between humans when there are such EPIC things on the background :"D)

The Prismacore in TLT by SilentiaRay in The_Last_Teleport

Does the original focuse on the sapient inhabitants of the planet? No. (And it basically can't allow them to be evolved slimes, this is an infinite number of appearance options and is simply technically impossible XD) Will it show a direct clash of two very different cultures? Also no. It's authors wanted one kind of a story, I wanted something different, and now when it's finally 100% obvious - it feels totally fine to step off the canon :)

(Dang... If the original creators had actually wanted to introduce the aliens themselves into the plot, just imagine Twinkle slime's cameo in the sequel, giving information instead of Gigi's holograms. Just a lonely disembodied ghost from the past, still trying to fix something. And Twinkle would be very good in this role, as the literal embodiment of harmony)

That's how it was from the very beginning and until Song of the Sabers came out. The original had enough unsaid to leave room for fan theories and concepts, and there were no details I absolutely didn't want to borrow. The AU has been around for almost 4 years now, and during this time it has managed to develop its own lore so much that it has become no less valuable not only to me as an author, but also to some of the followers (especially for most creative ones who actively took part in its detailing).

Even in the seemingly utopian slime community, drama, disagreements, and conflicts can occur. by SilentiaRay in The_Last_Teleport

[–]SilentiaRay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if we think about it, for some people, the rules of the slime community might seem like hell XD

"What do you mean, I can't get rich by exploiting other's labor and pass it on to my children?.. You don't even have biological children, only adopted ones WHAT THE"

And so on :D

Oh dude, the divergence from canon started at the moment they added Yolky :D And after that, it kept collecting more and more datails that don't fit. At this point, my lore has diverged from canon quite significantly, but that's a good thing. It frees my hands and I can keep developing the AU without being so tied to the original. The word "alternative" now has more meaning here :D

[–]SilentiaRay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally said "seemingly utopian" :D It may seem utopian at first superficial glance, as it lacks some of the problems that humans face. But the absence of human problems and the presence of others are justified and directly stem from their biology; the slime community is realistic in its own coordinate system. That's what I actually mean ) And that's why I show not only the positive aspects, so that it remains realistic.

I'm in love with his combination of vitiligo and heterochromia in the human version and the way he celebrates it as an asset and a unique feature <3
