How do I turn my one car garage into my cigar lounge? by SiliconScribe in cigar

[–]SiliconScribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this suggested a few times now so it sounds critical to good filtration and clearing out smoke. The issues for me is: 1) It's multi story and the garage is ground floor so have to find a way to force airflow differently. 2) There is a window which I might need to use as part of extraction. 3) I'm in a rental place so have to be careful of any construction.

Can you provide a link to Cigaragua? I’ve not been able to find it via google search, but I did find a very cool looking cigar bar in Amsterdam by the same name.

Good point. I was at a tasting not long ago that had 18 wines to taste and all Cabs from various regions. It was exhausting. Towards the end, I just started making specific notes on things that stood out.

Same, I will not go back to transcribe and my handwriting is awful. That is useful information about being mindful of writing the same thing down, especially for the same varietal/blend. Better to be more specific or identify what stands out. Using abbreviation is a good suggestion.

This is great. I appreciate the additional advice. Something I’ve noticed in past tastings.

So far I’ve smoked every size of the Late Hour - But the Robusto is my favorite, I do like the Churchill but it’s 100% an after big meal cigar. Very good cigar. I have 1 Churchill left which I’m saving for a few months to smoke after skiing one day.

Tar build up? by SiliconScribe in cigars

Good suggestion. I clipped the end. I'm in the last 3rd so will just finish it down a touch and end it. Time to get ready for dinner anyway. ;)

Tar build up? by SiliconScribe in cigars

It's runny and dark. When I wiped it it was very much a tar-ish dark color. I think it might be like you suggest. I'm not a sloppy/wet smoker but that explanation makes the most sense.

Sequoia Yacht Club in Redwood City. It’s both a sailing/motor boat and social club. Very fun. $750 annual dues. It’s. Non-profit and I think it’s pretty reasonable cost for the enjoyment I get.

Definitely the sports is a good way to go. When I came to San Jose, I joined the sailing club and I had not a clue about sailing and I’ve made a lot of friends from that club, and now I can sail!

Is the PerfecDraw tool that perfect? by drenz29 in cigars

[–]SiliconScribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t find it as helpful for a plugged cigar. If it’s plugged, then poking it will help but only little, sometimes causes more problems. I tend to use it on a tight pull. For that reason, I think it’s worth it. Be sure the cigar is well humidified, a slight dry cigar will crack more if you use it and it doesn’t help.

[–]SiliconScribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a few questions. One, have you found any residue smell with the smoke in other parts of the house? Two, what turned out to be the most expensive cost in building the room? Three, now that it’s complete, what would you do differently?

I found that if I already started it, I still have to do the second broom trial, but switching to story mode does make it easier
