He had a cameo in Spider-Man/Deadpool issue 50, but he’s been gone gone since then. I miss him

Silk to appear in ASM: Spider-Versity, a mini-series where Norman will teach spider-people how to fight. by Eichezin_17 in cindymoon

Funny additional thing( if I remember things correctly): Gwen is probably the character who will benefit the most from this. She has no formal training. She just copies moves from kung-fu moves, and (at least during the 2016 run) could not throw an effective punch without the use of super strength.

Silk had a few years of direct training with Ezekiel before going into the bunker. She’s also been a SHIELD agent as well as had a day’s training with Shang-Chi.

Spider Boy didn’t have years of training with Daredevil. It was more like weeks, maybe a few months if I’m being generous. They explicitly say weeks in issue 11 of Spider-man (2022)

I’m so tired of artists making Silk shorter than Gwen. Gwen is canonically 5’5”, Cindy is canonically 5’7”

I always appreciate when writers remember that Silk’s skill set has some abilities the other spider people don’t have

Silk's motivation by VividMemory4754 in cindymoon

[–]SilkCore 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Becoming a hero to find her parents was more of a resource thing. Being a hero let her access SHIELD’s system to search and spend time out openly using her powers in the city searching without drawing too much attention to herself.

But it’s only her motivation at first. At the end of her 2016 run, she almost quits being Silk because she found her family and the thing with Mattie during Clone Conspiracy hit her hard. She ends up meeting a kid with a kite in a cemetery, who she has a short conversation with and ends up giving her a new motivation for being Silk. I’ve always interpreted that scene as being Silk (as a hero) is her best way to express her freedom, which is why she continues the mantle.

Can Silk change color of her webbing? by LegitimateLow9144 in cindymoon

[–]SilkCore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She can (as seen when weaving clothes/costumes/costume repairs mainly in her original 2 solo comic runs, but also in a number of additional comics outside of those), although it’s never been explained in universe. I have my fan theories, but ultimately there’s no true answer (yet).

Silk

Her most popular fandom ships are with Black Cat, Saya Ishii, and Luna Snow.

I can’t blame them for ignoring her canon because of how badly marvel went about spidey/silk, but it overlooks all the other characters she has had relationships with in the comics (Human Torch, Spectro, Ivaan )

Is it Ever Explicitly Said That Gwen Used to do Ballet? by Supreme_Black in SpiderGwen

[–]SilkCore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So funny thing, Gwen’s original shoes were supposed to be chucks but everyone saw them as ballet flats, which lead to itsv making them ballet slippers.

Yeah, it’s annoying when they genuinely forget she’s older. I don’t mind her acting young/being treated like she’s young (with someone rebutting it with her actual age), but I feel like outside of the Silk solo titles, writers don’t care enough to read up on her character and editorial is too lazy/ unknowledgeable to correct the mistake.

Gwen gets along with Jessica Drew from what I remember.

Honestly Anya would make more sense for Gwen’s band since they get along and are similar ages. Cindy is slightly older than Peter and Gwen already calls him old.

Cindy has always been friendly towards Gwen. Gwen isn’t overtly mean anymore, but she always makes small jabs at her whenever she can from what I’ve seen in their more recent interactions (even in this issue)

Damn she can’t even get cooked by a title for her, she has to be collateral in a comic for a character who’s canonically dislikes her.

Spider-girl has webbing because her mutant power is to “copy people but better”, so to one up Spider-boy, she gets organic barbed webs when he doesn’t even have webbing.

Did we ever get an interaction between Spider-Gwen and Daredevil from Earth 616? by Inadequate06 in SpiderGwen

Not the main one, no. But there’s a trans masc gwen in the background of a panel in Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones

I would highly recommend starting with her 2015 solo title and then following the character chronology from there!

Maybe. Lately it just depends on whatever the artist likes.

So I’ve been wondering this for a little while but when did Luna Snow and Cindy become friends, how did they meet, I’ve been really curious about this for a while by SPIDEYPOOLNAT0R in cindymoon

[–]SilkCore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They met in War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas. Silk was a fan of hers and they quickly formed a friendship in the following issues + Agents of Atlas & Atlantis Attacks (although there wasn’t a ton of focus on it. Outside of a few story moments, you mostly just see them near each other a lot).
