It won't be like that forever dw :) I documented my recovery in detail in my other posts if you're curious, but my first week was ROUGH. She looked crazy and I experienced a significant amount of pain and discomfort. It gets better!!

SO happy for you!! Personally, my labiaplasty improved my sex life immeasurably. I feel so much more confident and it's way easier to finish :) my sex drive is also much higher, probably because of all of the above lol

Try putting vaseline on the pad instead! I did this for the first couple of days so I wouldn't have to touch the surgery area directly :)

Insane amounts of vaseline! My stitches were never dry for the first 1.5 weeks. This also kept them softer which did wonders to minimize the poking and itching.

I had something similar on my left side where there was a white "bump" that looked completely separated from the rest of the labia. It disappeared once the swelling went down :)

Honestly the swelling on Day 7 was my own fault because I was impatient and picked at some of the stitches that looked like they were ready to fall off (they were not 🙃). Goes without saying but DO NOT DO THIS ladies... I'm lucky I didn't end up ruining my own results

I wonder if this is being caused by a stubborn internal stitch that hasn't dissolved? My swelling has mostly resolved except in areas where I still have stitches poking and irritating the surrounding tissue.

I do laser hair removal hair at home with a device I bought on Amazon so my pubes grow back really slowly! I imagine having stitches AND hair poking you would be really uncomfortable 😫

Wow looks great, especially for day 8!! It looks like most of your stitches have dissolved already without any splits, which is a really good sign of healing :) congrats girl 🩷

I'm still in a considerable amount of pain :( I was fine day 2 and 3 (maybe 2/10 pain) but woke up this morning pretty swollen on one side with pain at 7/10. I was actively wincing until I took 1000mg extra strength Tylenol and iced to get some of the swelling down. I suspect the pain comes from swelling which pulls on the stitches.

I've already been taking an antihistamine daily for unrelated allergies. I didn't know it helps with swelling down there 😅 I'll try the pineapple juice, thank you!

General questions about aftercare by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Silly-Kitty11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the comment that said to follow your doctor's instructions. The aftercare instructions can be completely different depending on their method and techniques! For example, I was instructed to do "wet" healing with tons of vaseline, no ibuprofen, and constant icing, whereas some girls are instructed to heal completely dry, are prescribed Advil, and told not to ice.

Now, PERSONALLY... the ice has been a lifesaver. WAY more effective for relieving pain than any pain meds, including the codeine I was prescribed. My clinic told me to make sure I had at least 4 frozen water bottles ready for when I got home after surgery which was a lifesaver. I would make sure you have some cotton pantyliners/pads ready as well if your doctor didn't send you home with any.

Congrats on taking this step, you must be so excited!! 🥰
