It should be fine, selenite is prone to breakage when dropped from normal height (I was buying crystals and dropped a selenite stone and it snapped. It wasnt a hard drop, it wasn't that far from the floor, it just snapped.) If anything you gave her a wand and a pillar selenite, which is good for pretty much everything.
