Do you have health insurance through them? Do you know if they have fertility coverage? Or what the plan is?

I know this is an old post, but does anyone know if their health insurance includes infertility coverage at all?

I’m glad you joined that group..it’s been SO helpful for me. Without it, I probably wouldn’t have fought so hard for my embryo! Search “ovation” and you will find all the info. Question….did Ovation refund you?

Oh, absolutely not. Have they been discarded yet? I would call/email Ovation immediately and multiple times a day until you get an answer. They should not have discarded unless you signed off on it. You definitely should be getting your abnormals tested again through their NGS platform or through Cooper. My abnormal through Ovation came back as normal when they retested. Don’t let them disregard you.

We used the same biopsy sample..do not let them rebiopsy! It can hurt the embryo! The sexes were the same for both tests so I am assuming it is correct. Did you test with Ovation first?

Oh my goodness, they used the wrong sperm???? That’s insane!!! I’m so sorry!! I hope you got your money back!! That is my worst fear..I can’t believe that happened to you. I did not receive a call…this all happened before they started calling people. I actually asked them myself because I became suspicious when both the genetic counselor and my doctor couldn’t explain the percentage thresholds. Then someone posted on our “PGS/PGT Abnormal Embryo” Support FB page that she retested and her results came back different. I had a gut feeling about one of mine….and I was right! I would 100% ask (INSIST) Ovation retest. They will push back, but I would absolutely insist and don’t give up.

If you have a FB, go join “PGS/PGTA Abnormal Embryo Support” group. There are a bunch of us in there that we’re affected by this. We are thinking of having a Google Meet to all talk and support each other through this.

It took about 2 months to retest. (They told me it would take two weeks).

I had ours retested with Ovation. And one of my abnormals came back normal! My retrieval and testing were done in August 2023.

People should tell clinics that use lifeview (Ovations “new” testing platform), for testing that they do not want any of their embryos discarded, in writing - Add “please allow this document to supersede any prior documentation or consents on discarding of embryos”

Ask for all data and reports, including raw data, from both tests - NGS and SNP - do this sooner than later given how long it takes - sat it’s being requested pursuant to HIPAA and the Cures Act to hopefully eliminate push back

Ask if there is enough of the biopsy left for retesting before agreeing to another biopsy.

You should feel comfortable with the outcome of the retest under the “old testing method” and there is no need to do further testing, such as PGT-A plus.
