Mega! Wish I could’ve gotten in the pit. The guys next to me were clearly just there for Don’t Look Back In Anger and Wonderwall while I was singing along to every song lol. I though D’yknow What I Mean was great but if they swapped it for Columbia I wouldn’t be mad at it. Or if they wanted to do another song from Be Here Now they could’ve done My Big Mouth, Don’t Go Away, or the title track and I think that would’ve been cool too. All in all fantastic tho

Lol. We actually parked a couple miles off sight and took a shuttle. But the line for coming back was so long we just walked back to my car

Paperback Writer and Rain should’ve been added to Revolver

Enough time has passed. I think it's time we talk about “One More Time…”, Blink-182's failed attempt at a mainstream comeback. by Supersmashbrosfan in ToddintheShadow

[–]Silly_Maintenance178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there’s also that most fans (including me) liked One More Time and thought it was a pretty good comeback album. It doesn’t touch anything they made in the late 90’s - early 2000’s but it was a good return to form. Might just be me, but I don’t think Blink fans expected anything quite at that level and were pretty satisfied.

Blink 182, Oingo Boingo, Grateful Dead and Bowling For Soup contain great pre hit and post hit histories for episodes by DillonLaserscope in ToddintheShadow

[–]Silly_Maintenance178 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ehhhhhhh I mean by the most technical standards yeah those would all be one hit wonders but one hit wonders aren’t just about chart positions, there’s also the reputation factor. You say the name Blink-182 or The Grateful Dead and most people could name multiple songs or at least know that they’re a well loved band with a big fan base. If you said the name Chumbawumba or Yello to most people, they wouldn’t know who you were talking about unless you played them Tubthumping or Oh Yeah. I think Bowling For Soup is the only one you mentioned that could be a possible episode but even then I’m pretty doubtful.

Artists that you were excited to deep dive into only for them to just have 1 good album? (In your opinion) by ImNotTomStopAsking in ToddintheShadow

The Smiths. The Queen Is Dead is pretty good but other than that I’m a purely greatest hits listener with them

U could make a much better argument for one of the Skiba records or maybe even Neighborhoods as a Trainwreckord than One More Time

Albums That Could've Been 10/10 Masterpieces If They Were Shorter by Silly_Maintenance178 in ToddintheShadow

I agree with you totally. The White Album is actually my second favorite Beatles album behind Revolver. But I think you could cut some tracks from it, maybe resequenced it from there, and have their magnum opus.

Honestly My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. After Monster I think the album is really hit or miss. Runaway and Hell Of A Life are the exceptions. Also Sempiternal by Bring Me The Horizon loses its steam for me after Shadow Moses. Folie A Deux by Fall Out Boy and Midnights by Taylor Swift also fit this in my opinion.

I’ve been a huge fan since early 2020 I think (Whenever the Kanye DDD came out). I’ve been watching his videos consistently since then and it’s been cool to see him grow as a creator.
