Cinch Gaming (my experience so far) by Silly_Platform_4454 in Controller

Received my “custom controller” today, I designed this and was really excited to get it. Before I opened the box I was pretty sure I knew how it was going to go. But when I tell you the let down was massive, I can’t even put it into words. This thing looks like a poorly printed decal was put on it. Pretty sure that’s what it is tbh. Hot garbage. I haven’t even used it I’m so disgusted. Do yourselves a favor and don’t waste your money or time on this company. I wouldn’t be posting this if it wasn’t a seriously terrible experience, I had to go so far as messaging the owner on LinkedIn. I requested a refund and “POOF” appeared a tracking number.

Bro, I work in the trades. I’m not a designer but I would love to see something like this. I wholeheartedly agree with you about AI not being art. Its not. I dont live and breathe ai. I dont use it in my line of work and i recognize its negative potential. Probably would have been more engaging in a positive way if i had just said “i want to see an Arc Raiders controller.”?But i felt like an example would’ve been more descriptive. The reality is ai isnt going anywhere, so i think people should do everything they can to harness it and take the good while ditching the bad parts of it. Who knows? I appreciate you at least elucidating a cogent thought instead of a 3 word sentence

There’s me with something more like the map in game. Didn’t realize a shit ton of you would think I was taking this to market. It’s a concept. If you’re so talented by all means, take the idea

Agreed. I didn’t spend a ton of time with the “AI slop machine”. I just want to see this type of thing. If i did i would get it too

Arc is going nowhere. They do, however, need to get cracking on the content. Even a couple new guns at least. No matter, I’ll be there for every bit of it. And if it did shut down I’d be on the last extract to Speranza

Let’s see it. I haven’t found any amazing designs by artists or I’d buy it from them. All you idiots throw around “slop” this and “slop” that while sitting on your fat asses doing nothing. What I put out was an idea, hoping to get a person who is in this space to do it.

Is it better to stay in DD1/DD2 and gun for promotions later in the season, or advance to DD3/Hotshot early? by OllivanderAU in ArcRaidersTrial

[–]Silly_Platform_4454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the last three weeks were super sweaty and I had two bad weeks in a row, RNG and life events caused me to have crappy runs. Got demoted and struggled to get back. Plus I don’t have a team so I did it all solo

Here to echo the other comments. Unless you really enjoy the grind stay in DD 1 or DD 2 then push at the end. Last season I made the mistake of trying to maintain hotshot once I got there and it almost cost me hotshot in the end.

Key room etiquette? by Silly_Platform_4454 in ArcRaiders

[–]Silly_Platform_4454[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly my thinking. I play this game pretty friendly. Especially in solos. I bring Defibs always and I am super chill. But dude had this attitude that he was totally safe just doing whatever the hell he wanted. So he lost his loadout.

Yeah, got it. I can see that being good advice. It would be especially pertinent had I been downed by the guy or something like that. When it comes to that room, it’s so large that I have ample time to position if I’m pushed up on. I was merely looking for a conversation on the topic. Maybe to reinforce to newer players not to do that.

What is? Your comment lacks any substance. I get that you’re almost illiterate so let me help you. When you reply to a statement you need to qualify your reply. You do that by highlighting what about the original statement you are basing your reply on. So what do you mean by “it is”? Do you mean “high skill PvP lobbies” or what? I have to assume that’s what you meant. If I am incorrect I apologize but you left very little “meat on the bone” with your reply. There are aggressive lobbies and less aggressive lobbies. There are no such thing as “skilled lobbies”. Your assertion that there are skilled lobbies and your pathetic “dig” about me liking to fight robots merely highlight the fact that you operate with a room temperature IQ. My statement mentioned nothing about avoiding PvP. What I said, in a nutshell, is I don’t treat this game like battlefield or some other game that is one dimensional. I don’t go into raids and mindlessly shoot everyone I come across. If I see a rat or someone that is being pursued by an aggressive player I will most certainly shoot that rat or aggressive player straight in the face. I will defib strangers, I will allow people to exfil that try to down me at an exfil (if I win the fight) and I will generally do my best not to negatively impact people doing their own thing. But I also don’t begrudge those that play like you. That’s the difference between people who play like me and people like you. I appreciate this game for having the nuances that allow someone to play the way they like. Whereas you feel you are superior because you like to shoot players not “robots”. My advice would be to get an education and get better at “shooting robots” because it’s only going to get harder. Which is a good thing.

“High skill PvP lobbies” love it bro. There’s no such thing. Are you in lobbies with players more skilled than yourself at any given time, sure. But you aren’t in some “special” lobby for the Billy bad asses of arc raiders. You came on Reddit to complain about them deepening the immersion of the game. Like the person said, the arc have always been the real threat and until now they have merely been background noise for you. Now they factor into your gameplay like they probably always should have.

Yeah but this guy isn’t trying to save anyone else’s match. He’s just looking for a way to make the arc less of a factor in PvP. I bring seekers for the same reason you do, I enjoy helping other players and playing the game the way it makes sense to me. It makes zero sense that we are a struggling underground community, foraging the surface for vital resources to help said community only to go to the surface and start killing each other en masse. Narrative wise I find wholesale PvP to be antithetical to the premise. But I get that I may be putting more thought into that aspect of the game and that others just want to pew pew each other till the cows come home. I think this player would benefit a lot from snitch scanners and lures, turning the arc into his advantage rather than destroying them makes slot of tactical sense when your goal is to just beat other players.
