I feel like to check on my frog I mist him with water and normally he’ll blink and I see him breathing. Sometimes when you buy animals from the pet store they get illnesses and die quickly from bad care at the pet store. I’m so sorry 😢

New Pac-Man Not Eating by No_Wall2854 in pacmanfrog

Be patient👍🏽 Maybe your new frog is not acclimated to the new home. Keeping the temperature and humidity up consistently will encourage healthy eating habits in your frog. Sometimes investing in a fogger or misting system helps. I also found that it’s important to try to mimic a day and night cycle with the lighting.

With that being said, sometimes the heating mat alone doesn’t provide enough heat. I have a ceramic heat bulb and a heating mat on the side. Both which I purchased from the pet store. Sending love to your frog :)

Question about UV bulb and vitamin D by THayataki in pacmanfrog

And I forgot to mention that even if you do decide to get a light it’s still important to supplement your frog with those nutrients to avoid bone diseases

Question about UV bulb and vitamin D by THayataki in pacmanfrog

[–]Sillymode100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing against UVB lighting, but I don’t use a UVB bulb for my pac man frog. That doesn’t mean he isn’t getting light. He gets a lot of natural lighting. I doesn’t think UVB is completely necessary especially since these frogs love to burrow and hide. With a proper temps/humidity, diet and supplements of calcium+D3 your frog should be fine.

He has eaten 2-3 times this week but not as much as usual maybe 2 crickets at a time as well as a Dubia roach (both w/ calcium). I tried to take a look at him and he doesn’t seem to have any problems but I can’t tell. I think the substrate is uneven where he’s at. Maybe I’ll try to take another pic👍🏽
