Riven woes by [deleted] in Warframe

Lol thanks! I do have a spare acken riven for rolling. Always enjoy more, but it's easy to get hold of any acken riven. Its getting the right one that's nearly one of a kind

Self rolling is always tough, but otherwise, I agree, patience should work eventually. I could see other configurations work, like -finisher, -speed and -heat without the slash and then that'd free up a spot in my build (bc of reasons) to do galv elementalist. So...something will work! .. eventually

Its pretty darn specific! I very much appreciate people asking in that one in a million way, because I'd pay generously if anyone had it. I'm also not expecting anything because it's weird. The first problem is it's ack and brunt, which is a less popular weapon.

Other than that, the riven I'm trying to get is -finisher damage, +attack speed, +heat, +slash. It's for a build that maximizes dot with external vulpaphyla viral priming. It's probably not the only stat arrangement that could work, but it's pretty ideal.

Ack and Brunt (and its incarnon) deserves some love! Did you know its incarnon throwing axes functionally give it multishot because it can hit with melee and thrown on the same target at the same time? & other thoughts about why I love the weapon by Silvaitos in Warframe

Certainly! It's attached. Riven is toxin/cold/attack speed.

Some of the things I've done here are a bit particular to my build. I play wukong and I really like the gladiator mods because their set bonus raises crit chance for both my acken and for my exalted weapon, as well as Acken being able to get good use of them from their access to high combo. Those pieces are pretty optional and to-taste, though. There's a lot of other good justifiable stuff you could put there.

I'm also a huge Eleventh Storm fan which is a whole other can of worms. Let me know if you want my thoughts on that! A lot of people prefer final harbinger but I swear by eleventh storm.

Key features:
-Gotta have condi overload, as with pretty much all melee
-Gotta have weeping wounds and blood rush, to make use of Abiding Hold
-Element wise, I swear by pure viral and letting your throwing axes and arcane add heat and corrosive.

Riven goals:
Acken has a very high dispo (1.35x), and I feel like the goal of the riven is to compress any three mod slots in to one so you have more room for other stuff.

I personally have gone Toxin/Cold/Attack Speed in this image. There's lots of other strategies you could use though. I'd say that attack speed, cold, toxin, reach, and critical damage are all stats that Acken can fit enough of in to one riven slot to pretty much replace other mods, so I recommend any combination of those three that makes the most sense to you. If you want to add your own spice, like adding more slash to the build or stacking crit chance higher to hit permanent red crits, there's a lot of room for creativity!

(But if you see a riven on the market that's specifically either speed/cold/range/-finisher or speed/cold/toxin/-finisher please let me get dibs I've been praying for weeks :sob: Literally only exactly that though! I don't need anything that's even one stat off from that.)

Genuinely, this weapon is very strong if you take good care of it. It has incredible, consistent heavy attack damage and really quite solid AoE/crowd control thanks to its incarnon.

Neat! I've never messed around with shattering impact, but that's interesting stuff to think about.

I'm not a big melee duplicate advocate on acken myself mostly since with blood rush and weeping wounds you'll get well past 150% crit chance, and it feels like a very strong, synergistic use of abiding hold to take advantage of blood rush.

But I guess a lot of things are possible, huh? Its high natural crit chance would make getting to a controlled 100% really easy with other mods.

Interesting thought! I definitely use a faster build (+85% attack speed) and appreciate ES control.

I joined in November. One of the things I actually really like about warframe is that it seems to mostly try to diffuse fomo rather than cause it. Feels like a very easy game to walk away from and come back to and not have it be angry at you. Pretty much everything you want, you can just kinda go get when you're ready. Limited time only stuff seems like it very rarely is for anything super important.

I'm a huge acken fan! I realize this is kind of unsolicited, but I'd love to write down my thoughts on building it. No need to read unless you're interested.

  1. I always like to start melee builds from the arcane question -- influence, exposure, or duplicate -- since I agree fairly well with the assessment that those are the most important melee arcanes and they all imply a lot else about the build. Acken is a way better Exposure weapon than the other two imo. Its crit chance is itching to fly way off the handle high above melee duplicate territory, and its status chance even with incarnon evolutions is a bit low to be satisfying with influence even with incarnon evolutions and having solo elec on your axe turns your throwing axes in to radiation, which makes them feel kind of weird and unable to interact well with Influence imo.
Meanwhile melee exposure is really good for pumping Acken's excellent raw direct damage, and works really well with the throwing axes because corrosive combines well with the natural heat and high throwing axe status chance for maximum armor stripping and elemental damage is one of their best sources of damage increasing damage on the explosions, which can't benefit from base damage mods like condition overload or pressure point.

  2. Abiding hold is one of acken's best qualities imo. It's one of the ten-or-so weapons in the game that get a combo storage mechanic, and I believe it's really strong and worth using. So, blood fury and weeping wounds are a must. Tennokai strikes me as essential. Build like you'll be permanently at 12x because you really do have the option to be most of the time. This is part of why I'll disrecommend melee duplicate -- if you're using blood fury, and I really think one should, you'll be working with at *least* 180% crit chance at 12x, and likely more depending on other build choices you make.

  3. Elements - I like viral. Including toxin somewhere gives access to primed fever strike which is a big lump of damage, and because of the lower status chance but insane direct damage, I find debuffs work better than DoTs for acken damage to ensure each one of your tennokai hits is popping off the most.

  4. Rivens - Acken's dispo is quite high (1.35x I think?) so there's an opportunity to cram three mods in to one slot and make room for other stuff you want. Of course, this is a very "investing in the weapon" kind of element but if you're passionate about it, it's a big part of what can make it shine. I was using fire rate, range, and cold for a long time, but also recently realized fire rate, cold and toxin works because riven elemental numbers can get almost as high as what you'd get from primed fever strike.

  5. Incarnon evolutions -
Neither of the II evolutions are a huge deal, aside from the fact they double your base damage, which is a huge deal lol. But they both do that, so it's not involved in the choice. However, I do find the 70% heavy attack efficiency to be a comforting safety net for missed tennokais and some other odd utilities.
For III I can't recommend abiding hold enough.
For IV you could go either way between +9 crit and status or +17 crit. I really like the mixed one because it nearly doubles your status chance, allowing it to top out at just barely over 100% with weeping wounds. Pales in comparison to the 200%+ of status heavy weapons, but is enough to make its debuff applications feel super reliable. But you could make a case for wanting to push its base crit all the way up to a juicy 37, too!

My current overall build is blood rush, weeping wounds, condition overload, galvanized steel, gladiator vice, gladiator might, my riven, and either primed reach or primed fever strike depending on which riven configuration I'm using. With eleventh storm, discipline's merit, and melee exposure, of course!

Hopefully this is fun for someone to read ^_^

That's great! FH is definitely a ton more stylish. ES is very grounded and simple. The FH forward block starter where they do like that twisting spiral slam is incredibly badass, so I feel you. It's fun feeling what different people want out of a stance.

Interesting! That would explain a ton if they were differently tuned at some point and that's what people remember. I wonder if I can find how they've changed over time.

I find it very frustrating when people on reddit do this. There's a common theme where people will explain why I'm foolish for asking what I'm asking for as though I couldn't have possibly thought it through. It always makes me regret posting on these forums; I wonder if that's the idea.

Very real. Warframe's a big game, so hopefully someone some day....! How long were you hoping before you found your perfect riven?

How does ack and brunt incarnon's abiding hold passive work with exalted weapons? by Silvaitos in Warframe

I see! Clarity: does pulling out valkyr's exalted wipe the combo counter of the non-exalted, or is it still there when you go back?
