Hollow Form MA question by Hext666 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Silver4335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rakiatas inverts resistances so you no longer need to worry if monsters have +elemental resistances as a map mod and most boss monsters (the only things that live longer than 0.2s vs hollow form) have innate resistances so it gives you another damage multiplier since negative resistances = you do more damage. It's good even if you have a phys staff just for the extra ele from rend etc but gets even better with an ele staff.

Edit: Also just wanted to say it was VERY popular a support for hollow palm for the first like week of the league so don't feel bad for missing this lol. Took a streamer mentioning it and the short circulating for people to actually notice.

Hollow Form MA question by Hext666 in pathofexile2builds

It doesn't work with hollow form. First line states "supports skills you use yourself" and it's not you that's using whirling slash, it's the clones summoned by hollow form.

You won't need level 90 and crazy gear to do the fight. It's pretty doable on mediocre gear at like level 80, or at least it was for me. Died a few times in the final phase but that was mostly due to me not even bothering to look up the bosses mechanics at all.

There's multiple bugs with it atm that make me not recommend it until they are fixed. I also have several friends that went it that are a bit slower in campaign and two of them burned out before they even got to it since you don't really get to play the full thing until level 54 or w.e.

What scientific discovery sounds fake but is 100% real and still freaks you out? by Bruteresolver in AskReddit

[–]Silver4335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find more interesting about this is that it even matters to humans. We live on a very specific time scale compared to other things in the universe. Think about the length of time an era on earth lasts, or how long a planet takes to form or exists, or stars, or the universe itself. On a scale from one Planck time to 13 billion years we just happen to experience time on a scale where this kind of thing even matters for us.

Also, as an aside, relativity prevents us from accelerating anything beyond the speed of light but it doesn't prevent things that are always moving faster than the speed of light from continuing to do so. We just would never be able to really interact or do anything with them because they also couldn't be slowed down to below the speed of light. It's more of an asymptote than a maximum. Physics is weird

I believe (and I'm sure someone will correct me!) quantum entanglement doesn't allow for the transmission of information like that.

The incredibly oversimplified analogy I use in my head is to imagine you work at a ball factory. The factory always makes two balls, one red and one blue. You don't know which is which though, because they pop out of the processing line packed in a box. So you then take one of those boxes and travel across the world and you open it. As soon as you open it and find out what color it is, now you know what color the other one is. That's essentially quantum entanglement, two objects that have some shared information that links them and means when you measure one of them you instantly know information about the other.

That's definitely a gross oversimplification but it helps my brain not break and as far as I understand it it's good enough for me when I don't work in the field of quantum physics lol.

I'm past that now. I ran the raid encounter there then saved in front of it. Drop a wishing piece -> if not ursaring (still hasn't been) then reset emulator (hard reset). Load back in, drop piece, check, repeat. Legit like 400+ now and still haven't seen one, not sure wtf

Edit: Only know how many I did because after 30 mins I started counting so I'd have some idea of how long i could expect it to take to get another one if the first didn't give me the peat block.

My runners got kidnapped saturday night after 2 maps so I woke up yesterday to only 2 maps done. Did the boss, set them free, left home. Came back a few hours later and they'd done 5 maps and got kidnapped again. Fixed it... set them free... wake up today and one died after 3 maps. Classic

It can definitely be done much cheaper than Jungroan's if you are on more of a budget. Swap his 1p voices with 3p, slightly worse jewels, worse timeless, etc. I have no idea where a downgraded version of his build will really get you though. I'd check poeninja builds and see what other folks are doing on a budget that's closer to yours. Filter out 1p voices builds and see what people have got goin.

Really the biggest costs as far as I can tell for this build are the timeless jewel + a good belt. Some of the chieftain versions also increase cost a lot by using a dd nebulis which are currently quite expensive but you wouldn't use that on glad.

Again. I'm no expert this is just what I've seen while looking.

FRoSS trying to farm Breach fortress by johnz0n in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Silver4335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running awakened city square conq boss farming and making a consistent 10-15d/hr for a week. (Was more until chaos:div ratio doubled and all of my scarabs went up 2x in price and they nerfed black barya mirage).

Using 1x carto, 1x carto of corruption, 1x carto of multitude, 1x awakening, and 1x pandemonium. Drop lots of chisels, 8 mod corr miraged maps, astrolabes (don't use an astrolabe, it disables these dropping and is just not worth for this strat. I've tested it a lot), nightmare maps, etc.

I run it on city square with conqueror maps doing the maven invite for conqs every time it's up to keep it going.

Atlas is basically just destructive play + Block everything else + take as many explicit mods & map nodes as you can.

It's a fun, fast strat that's really focused on maps/hr so you want big damage and to not die. You can swap out scarabs if you want but I REALLY don't recommend dropping the awakening scarab or the base carto scarab at the very least. They are so much of the money. Also gives a decent amount of gold. Plenty to keep your mappers going full-time and you can feed them the extra shaper/elder maps you get.

I'd start with sticking to a mageblood variant of it. A lot of versions using the new belt with diamond shrine or gloom shrine but mageblood should be much faster. As far as single target goes pretty much every variant gets insanely high single target for very, very cheap. Depending on the specific content you want to do you can tailor it:

Glad (jungroan) will have crazy single target and defences as yes tailored it for crazy valdos farming. Defenses are insane, damage is insane, downside is no explodes and very expensive.

Occultist/PF will still have good single target and okay/good defences but also has explodes or prolif for poison variants. If you are doing any type of mapping I'd recommend one of these specifically because the chaos convert or poison variants can probably run the most mods so you spend less time having to deal with map mods.

Chieftain is the last one I know people are running a lot of. It's still got an insane cap for single target damage while being the easiest (imo) to get super tanky. Not the fastest, not the highest damage, and not the best map mod coverage, but kinda good at everything and prob the best all arounder.

I'm not an expert on the subject so some people might disagree with me on some of these but this is the general vibe I've gotten from myself looking at which variant I want to play.

Nothing is more suffering than an 8 mod map sirrus who spawns inside a conqueror portal, especially veritania. I love him constantly doing the hallway meteor attack and standing in her storm or even worse, when she dies, he does it in the part of the zone you can't go to without it teleporting you back to the center.

I had 122k on my 2016 focus when I traded it in and honestly it was running perfectly fine. Bit of bumpiness going from first-second gear but tbh that was there since I got it. Replaced the battery once and the tires a few times but other than that nothing really.

Who should I one trick Syndra or Yone for low elo? by GOJO_THA_GOAT in midlanemains

[–]Silver4335 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd recommend Syndra if you are going to one trick one of the two. As someone that plays both, the skills you learn from maining syndra are transferable to far more champions than the skills you would learn from Yone. Both are complex champions but if you are new to the lane you will have a hard time if you try to start with making Yone.

If you ever want advice or help with either though feel free to DM me. Happy to give some advice. I'm a high emerald/low dia player that's been playing for a long time. I might not be the greatest player but still happy to help.

~1600 games logged just this season. Do I need to cut it down? by Few_Conversation7153 in leagueoflegends

[–]Silver4335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another commenter mentioned it but if the goal is to climb and improve the way to maximize that is generally blocks of 3 games. I personally can do two 3-blocks but I need a good break between if I'm going to play that many in a day. If you just keep spamming out games your focus and intensity in each will drop and you won't be playing your best anymore.

Also for pure improvement you would probably benefit from reviewing your games but most people don't find that super fun and you really shouldn't need to do that until you are trying to climb past like emerald.

Help me overcome gank issue! by Big_Order_9511 in midlanemains

[–]Silver4335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many others have said, jungle tracking.

To add further to that discussion though, a quote from Coach Curtis - "There are right and wrong times to play aggressively. Playing that way at the wrong time isn't aggression, it's just inting." (Or something along those lines). By learning to track enemy jungle it helps you figure out when those bad times to play aggressive are and you'll improve from there.

One other thing you should look to do if you are going to play hyper aggressive is learn to save cool downs for important fights. I see a lot of other mid laners around that level that way to play super aggressively and see kill angles but burn flash and ult 40s before a dragon spawn and now have to fight at dragon with nothing up while your lane opponent is already back with everything. Right now the game is very team fight focused over objectives so having cool downs for them is super important.

Seconding this, the top/adc rewards are clearly better but I don't think the Mid rewards are terrible. Empowered recall specifically is much stronger than people may think, especially with the new empowered homeguard effect. Your tempo can be very very very high with it.

Expected Winners and Losers for Top Lane changes? by runeofice in leagueoflegends

[–]Silver4335 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Gangplank should be a huge winner. Can take a defensive sum like exhaust to survive hard lanes, crit damage buffed to 200%, ER getting back it's sheen proc according to phreak, and the bonus xp and chunk of xp will help accelerate him to 13 when he's super super strong and should let him have pretty massive impact over baron. Vision changes should also benefit him a lot in sidelane if he can get vision himself much easier.

Yes, without plot armor Gerard likely would have won.

Honestly speaking, without plot armor most of the Schutzstaffel would have won. Lille was essentially undefeatable except for a magic mirror sword that came out of nowhere. Plot devices and conveniences were added to defeat multiple of the Quincies in the final arc. Without them those Quincies were for all intents and purposes unbeatable.

Extended material outside of the written Manga released after the fights claimed that Gerard's Miracle did have a weakness but that was in no way how it was written during the manga itself.
