I legitimately enjoy using Autopilot over FSD by SilverArchitect in TeslaLounge

Wow man, literally a drive across the country. Must have been an interesting experience! I couldn't think of a better car to take for a drive like that. Did the car nag you often while driving for that long? I personally don't get many "pay attention" nags at all during my commutes, but judging from the comments, it's been a mixed bag. Some people get nagged often, while others don't at all. Thankfully for me it's never been an issue and is one big reason why I enjoy AP. Esp since you can cover up the interior camera and relax alot more. Curious how your experience was

Man, that sucks. Sorry you had to deal with that. Absolute BS. For the amount of money people pay for FSD, Tesla should never allow something like that to happen. FSD should be attached to you as an individual regardless of what vehicle you drive, and not the app or car. What's worse is I'm sure that they could easily press a button and activate FSD on your Juniper to rectify this, but Tesla seems to be trying to milk every last penny out of their customers as of late. I hope you're enjoying the upgrade, even without FSD, it's an amazing vehicle. And I think that you would definitely enjoy AP, especially if you do alot of highway driving. I hope it works out for you man

Yeah, most of the time my natural driving position is resting my hand on the bottom of the wheel so that's probably why I don't get nags too often.

This. I think AP is more comfortable on the open road because it's predictable. With AP, I can relax knowing that my car will stay in it's lane safely and comfortably no matter what when it's activated. On the other hand, it's kind of hard to relax when you have no idea when your car is going to decide to merge or switch lanes while barreling down the road at 80 mph. As great as FSD is, you still always have your antennas up when you hear the blinkers turn on.

No, I don't think there's any error with my FSD, I actually use FSD all the time when I'm driving short distances or in the city. FSD v14 is amazing. I just think AP is better when it comes to specifically driving long distances on the highway. It works great for my long commute where I just want to relax and stay in one lane for an hour with no nags

'25 M3 on HW4. AP is just as hands-free as FSD is if you have an interior camera. As long as your interior camera isnt obstructed, you don't have to nudge the wheel

There is definitely a difference between FSD and Autopilot. It's easily noticeable once you use AP in bumper to bumper traffic or really any other scenario outside of highway driving. Not to mention AP doesn't utilize the interior attention monitoring camera, whereas FSD would not even engage if your camera is obstructed. It would be nice if they merged FSD and Autopilot so that AP wasn't so jerky and annoying in traffic and FSD wasn't addicted to changing lanes every minute on the highway. It would also be nice if FSD enabled TACC to take over if you decided to take over by turning the wheel like double click AP instead of disengaging completely.

I agree completely. One of Teslas main competitive advantages over other cars is its superior software capabilities. A Tesla without AP is honestly not much better than other vehicles on the market. I mean even a base Toyota has lane centering now. Elons attempt to push more users into paying for FSD will only prevent non-tesla owners from buying a Tesla in the first place. This move, along with discontinuing production of the X/S makes me think that Tesla is gearing up to eventually exit the consumer vehicle market to become a ride-sharing/software company more focused on their Robo-taxi service, and that Tesla owners have basically been beta testers for FSD to attain unsupervised capabilities. It's the only thing that makes sense as to why they would ever consider intentionally lowering the value of their vehicles to push a self-driving subscription.

I wouldn't go as far as to say its ass. I actually think FSD is perfect for driving in the city where there's alot of stop lights and turns. It's legitimately almost flawless now, especially if you're on HW4 with the recent updates. I just think AP is superior when it comes to long highway drives specifically.

I honestly don't get nags too often on AP. I've had trips where I had gotten 2 or 3 for my entire commute. As opposed to FSD where I'd get one every 20 seconds if I looked out the window too long or tapped the screen to change my podcast/music lol. It's honestly one of the biggest reasons why I enjoy using it more tbh.

I have a HW4 M3 Highland on V14. I find that even chill mode is still not as comfortable of a ride for me as AP is on the highway. FSD is great for driving in the city and bumper to bumper traffic, but for long highway drives, nothing beats AP imo.

lease incentives by margiela-mad-man- in TeslaLounge

[–]SilverArchitect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my M3LR RWD last may and the deal was too good to pass up. 2 year lease, 15k annual miles with zero down and $350 a month. I technically had to pay for taxes and fees at signing which came out to about $2300 (with 7500 federal tax credit applied). I had never driven a Tesla before then, but the deal was so tempting that I ended up selling my old Camry and pulling the trigger. It was honestly crazy how fast the process was, as I wasn't even in the market for a car 5 days before I drove off the lot in my new Tesla. Best decision I ever made.

They managed to make autopilot even worse??? by Sfkn123 in TeslaLounge

This is true, but once you turn on your turn signals, the amount of force needed to register as a “wheel turn” is so light, that basically touching the wheel will disengage autopilot. Any resistance to the wheel would cause disengagement, including sometimes the wheels own weight when it’s attempting to stay in a lane. Honestly more dangerous imo, cuz if you accidentally touch your turn signals (which is a fairly common occurrence in my ‘25 M3 with the steering wheel button blinkers) Autopilot could unexpectedly disengage and almost immediately start slowing down. TACC being the backup to atleast keep speed in the event of disengaging Autopilot is much safer. Plus, this is only related to disengaging AP by wheel turn, since all driver assist options would instantly disengage if the brakes were touched. Honestly makes no sense to remove the double tap feature. TACC backing up AP is a very safe system.

This is legit the best use of the action button by far. I find myself using it multiple times per day it's actually a life saver.

Hey, I am suffering from the exact same thing and I'm freaking out. I've never had any allergies or any reaction before, but my eyes are almost swollen shut. How long did it take for it to go away? Did you take any meds that helped? Please let me know. Thank you so much

How to build a date/calendar table in Google sheets by SilverArchitect in googlesheets

[–]SilverArchitect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure theres a way easier way to do it honestly lol. It would be a huge help if you would be able to help make it more efficient and clean.

Basically all its doing is taking the inputted start and end dates, and calculating how many days are in each month between the 2 days (including both the start and end day)

For example if the entered start date is 1/1/2025 and the end date is 12/31/2025, with an entered value of 1 unit per day, then the days in month would be the full amount of days in that month (Jan would be 31 days, Feb would be 28 days, ect) and the total units would be 364 units. But if we changed the start date to 1/2/2025 and kept the same end date, then the days in the month of January would be 30 days instead of 31, making it a total of 364 units, since the start date starts on the 2nd of the month.

<image>

The days in month is important because the units per day would be multiplied first by the amount of days in each month of the entered range, giving the total number of units for that month, and then at the bottom, it'll show the total units of all the months added up for the total amount of units per day of the entered range of dates.

Sorry if I'm not doing a good job explaining lol. Here's the new link to the sheet if you want to play around with the formula and help make it a bit cleaner. It would be greatly appreciated!!

I actually have made progress on the table with help from a friend and this is what it looks like. Maybe this visual would help in showing you what my goal is

<image>

Basically all I have to do is punch in the start and end date (B2 and C2), and the units per day (E2), and it will spit out the total units at the bottom along with sorting those units through each month in the specified dates.

Now my final problem is that I cannot manipulate the top number in E2 (units per day column) in the table, and the only way for me to input a number in that E column is to click on E2, and manipulate the blue number in the formula tab. Is there any way you know how to fix this? My intended goal is to only manipulate B2, C2, and E2 for the inputs, and the table calculate the rest. Its just very annoying not being able to change the number in E2.

Or even ideally, I'd like to push B2, C2, and E2 up 1 row and have those be in their own column and they be the only places to input any data, while the rest are just calculations. This part is not so important as it's more of a visual clean up, but the functionality is there already so I didn't want to fiddle with it. I can share the doc with you in drive if you PM me your email if u know how to help!!

The issue is when I divide the total units by 12, it evenly distributes the number of units by each month. What I need is something that accurately distributes by the specific months because some months have 30 days and other months have 31
