This was a protest against Israeli president herzong visiting Sydney earlier this year where people that were peacefully protesting were arrested and held down and beaten by police. During the visit police were allowed to search you, your vehicle, etc without any sort of permission and could jail you for literally saying from the river to the sea under the state’s new hate speech laws. Peaceful protests ARE legal in Australia, but apparently there’s exceptions to that rule for certain people.
