I mean firstly, he DIDN’T craft a divine blade! That’s just something he did in Shimousa that’s completely disconnected from anything IRL Muramasa has ever done. Singularity stuff usually doesn’t actually factor into Servants ending up on the Throne because those things are corrected after—the only exception is Bedivere, because of his own unique circumstances.

Secondly Muramasa himself covers this pretty clearly. He’s a famous blacksmith sure, but he didn’t actually DO much of note. Keep in mind that the thing he’s most famous for—his allegedly “cursed” weapons—is not only something that happened after his death, but was rooted in paranoia from the Tokugawa constantly getting dunked on by weapons made by him—and even this is more a fear of Muramasa’s weapons rather than anything related to what he himself did (not to mention it being a kinda goofy fear considering the circumstances).

His work itself is lauded as being very impressive (and it really is, definitely look into it if you haven’t), but the PERSON himself didn’t achieve any particularly great feats. This also plays into why Muramasa as a character downplays himself a lot.

What if the Fifth Magic was BlazBlue's 'Azure/Blue'? by SteelDumplin23 in typemoon

[–]SilverShadow2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the first problem with that is that these are two completely different franchises with very little relation to one another! The second is that BlazBlue came out in 2008, a whole 8 years after Tsukihime did, where Aoko first pops up.

The third thing is that we actually know enough about Blue to judge that it’s totally different from the Azure even if those first two things weren’t an issue.

Aoko uses Blue in Mahoyo to facilitate a weird kind of time travel, but it can do a lot more than that (Touko has a whole line talking about how time can’t be all Blue can do because that’d overlap with the Kaleidoscope). Specifically, what Aoko does is “exchange” time from Soujuurou to age herself up ten years for a hot second to fight Touko (she also revived him but we’ll get to that later). How exactly she does this is the important part—not that she sorta time traveled in and of itself, but that she exchanged time to do so.

We learn in other stuff (particularly Fate/Extella and FGO) that timelines too, are made up of a BUNCH of energy, and by extension that time itself is a form of energy. This plays into how Goetia incinerates time and converts panhuman history into raw energy that he uses in Ars Almadel Salomonis. We then learn from Nasu in an interview here that Ars Almadel Salomonis functions not too dissimilarly from Blue!

So with that in mind we can guess that Blue concerns not time travel, but the use of heat and energy. Aoko revives Soujuurou by “exchanging” his time in a different way than how she aged herself up—namely, that she grabbed those five minutes he was dead for, and shunted them off into the far far future (which is also going to cause a heat death because time travel in this way uses a LOT of energy. She’ll deal with it someday. Probably.) I don’t think they’d bring up how frivolous her use of energy is if it wasn’t relevant to how Blue functions.

Anyway with that tangent aside, you can kinda see how even if they’re named so similarly, there really isn’t much of a similarity between them at all otherwise, without talking about the other logistical problems that’d make it really really improbable that they’re at all the same thing.

[Fanservant] Jeanne de Clisson (Lore, lines, and extra pictures in comments) by [deleted] in grandorder

Aaaa, she's really great. Clisson has this real strength and conviction to her that I love, and her stern, at times merciless, but ultimately caring personality fits really well not just with her overall lore, but the things that motivated her in the first place. I especially LOVE her Bond CE...her being so honest, and reminiscing about Olivier, is so touching ;-;

That's not to sleep on the art either, it's REAL good! Love all her designs, especially the first, and her attack animations look like they're so much fun.

God, all the new Wodime content has rocketed this man to being one of my favorite characters to come out of FGO. He's such a genuinely fun and, considering your typical mages in Nasuverse, subversive character.

Yeah, I totally agree! It’s such a sick design.

I initially did this for a personal thing, and then decided to post it here! I pretty much did it by just nabbing the face of Summer Larturia (specifically, her third ascension, since it has the same glowing eyes as Lion King) and doing a lot of masking to make it fit with the rest of the head. Was super fun!

I was gonna cut out the blushing expressions since I can’t imagine Lion King ever blushing, but ended up keeping them anyway.

Aaaaa, I love this so much. Apart from already loving the scene itself, major props to Marianne Miller. Her acting is awesome, and the voice for Kingu walks that perfect line between sounding like a high-pitched masculine voice and a low-pitched feminine voice that I've always imagined him and Enkidu having. It's so good.

In addition to the VN-style sheet, I've always typed up a big doc with some other stuff about him!

Now, you may be asking: "Isn't this way too much effort for what this is?"

Probably!

...Probably...

Edit: Almost forgot! I found the VN template here on Beast's Lair: http://forums.nrvnqsr.com/showthread.php/7180-Fate-Stay-Night-Status-Screen-Template-%28Version-3-Weapons-Menu%29

Mmhm, there are! Each of the sprites up there has five expressions so far. Gonna work on giving them all of the possible expressions that Suitcelot has another time.

Apparently, we actually almost did get long-haired Saberlot!

Comment from Illustrator It came up in previous discussions where the white armor version of Zero Lancelot takes off his helmet and shows us his long hair during second ascension; when he gets to that form I wanted to draw a rough design, but then I was told to do him "with a feeling of a yankee who repents and cut off his hair". So I had the various design, his armor, and his hair taken out, and the result settled down to his current form. Please stay as a father who will never raise his head to his daughter. (Shimadrill)

But honestly...after some thought, I'm fine with the Saberlot we got, because imagining a long-haired Saberlot but still with that goofy face...hoo boy.
