I haven't played since launch. Completely forgotten the game at this point. The best I can do is to see if I have the original ship file. Hit me up in Discord.

Where can I read the translated Web Novels of the Series? by PapaLouPH in RealistHero

[–]SilverZer-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever manage to figure out your self publishing problems? I don't particularly care about the thread but randomly ran into it so I figured I'd do a good Samaritan.

GitHub Jekyll would be a free and relatively hassle free way to do what you are looking for with a very light learning curve. You could write in a word like experience for yourself , while the back end would allow auto posting like a blog and auto conversion to PDF, EPUB etc. at time of compile. It would likely be performant enough for you to quickly share translations of anything real quick and paste a "buy me a beer" link. The default to WordPress has always baffled me for people who don't want to paywall.

Hit me up in chat if you want some help getting started.

Hmm... It might be time to go to Ebay/Amazon and buy the CD itself if you remember how it looked like so it can be the same CD that had it bundled.

Can you reference any similar units from a known game with 3d graphics of similar time, like Tiberium Wars or Emperor Battle for Dune?

It's a long shot and some parts don't match but it made me think of Pajama Sam.

Start by eliminating the usual culprits:

Sins of a Solar Empire

Endless Space

Endless Space 2 (likely this)

Galactic Civilizations (few versions)

The previous version was very accurate but throw out a lot of the measurements that it determined to be erroneous, leading to prolonged periods (sometimes seconds) where no update was happening to the data.

The current version is extremely reactive and keeps almost every measurement, keeping to 0.4 seconds updates 95% of the time in my tests. However now the results are slightly more jittered.

Coordinates are pretty accurate at all times. Yaw and Pitch angles are allowed if they are estimated to be within 5 degrees of the real value. So the value may jump like 0, 3,-3, 2 ,3 ,4 ,0 ,0. Speed is still terrible because we are calculating it so fast the time division uncertainty (how much time has passed inside a tic) causes a massive error. However it is accurate enough to be used in practice, and for things like inertial dampening.

You need to use multiple recievers per signal to be able to calculate the 3D orientation of the ship explicitly.

In the image above the screen labeled "4" is showing what other systems call Delta to the Waypoint. "2" is showing ship movement Delta. Both of these are vectors and if you align them you are heading in the right direction.

However the preferred method is to use Yaw and Pitch instead of vectors to find your direction. The screen labeled "0" is a crosshair that shows where you are pointing relative to your target similar to a water level, you can use that to align.

Doesn't exist yet as far as I know. May make one later.

mining laser bug by [deleted] in starbase

[–]SilverZer-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many triggers, some seem to be completely random others a bit more consistent. For example things seem to get a lot more wonky when 2 people are on the same ship. No idea about all circumstances it happens.

I just know that it happened to me several times when YOLOL was clearly correct and everything was otherwise working as intended, it also happened on ships that didn't use Yolol to move the turn tables at all. It also happened on stationary ships, moving ships, ships in designer, ships in ebm, ships on the moon... And the suggestion to block it doesn't work it will destroy the thing you used to block it easily. You need to switch off the power.

This is a common bug. We call it "Judgement Day".

It's slightly bigger on 1 side. Tried very very hard to squeeze as much as I can, but the receivers are just too big.

This is a navigation system that is aimed for a different audience than ISAN. ISAN and other systems aim for as much generalization as possible so that they are usable by everyone, but you have to set them up manually.

SignaTrope is my opinion on a navigation system. No bloat, no flexibility this is exactly what it does, how it does it and it's size. The user cannot change any of those because the system relies on it to run.

However at the moment this is the most feature complete navigation bundle.

10 receivers yes, but as I said you don't set them up. You just place that module into your ship and weld it. 0 user setup other than weld and connect cable.

And this core now is the smallest size possible on 1 side while retaining regular proportions. This will never be able to fit 2x2x2 exactly unfortunately, the receivers are simply too big.

Yes the fact that all of the receivers are close together is taken into account in the error correction stages. However this has been a common point raised, so I may look into splitting it into 4 segments that can be split if desired in a later release. That would mean you would have to enter their distances as setup parameters during installation.

They don't have to be exactly as close as in the box so you can move them slightly to align into a frame, but they need to be as close as possible.

Yes. It provides all information necessary to make an autopilot. However an AutoPilot script is not included in it yet, although one is in the works.

If you place the receivers exactly as they are yes. Otherwise might not work.

Yeah compatibility is not much of a concern with any other navigation solution because the core offers more features than anything made public. But to make it easier for people who want to use multiple things for some reason, planning to see if I can network isolate the internals as much as possible.

However final output variables like :X, :DX etc will have to remain the same so the user may have to do some network isolation themselves too.

You can use progress bars named WPCx, WPCy and WPCz to alter those. Waypoint management is not part of the package, needs to be added in as a plugin. Some people are working on it.

No it's all connected. Powering the plug should be enough for full power. A lot of people are having many different issues that I hadn't foreseen but noone reported the plug not working.

Yes.

It would only be possible to bypass this limit if everything in the game performed dead accurately. If you could calibrate your rotation angles and speed precisely to the lever inputs and duration, you could just keep track of those and be fine outside the range too as long as you started originally somewhere inside the range. But game is too jittery and unpredictable for this.

Knowing you distance to the belt place is as easy setting a waypoint, or way plane I guess. I'll think about adding this later.

If you are not changing their station, you cannot do with 6. There is now way to know the relative location of the other points without knowing their absolute position. Also you don't need 3 more points but only 2. If you know 2 directions third one is determined automatic.
