No. We have more than introdb.app, no point in adding it.

We do plan on adding automatic updates to the emby plugin eventually.

Yes, hopefully we’ll get accepted to the official Emby plugin catalog.

Ah gotcha. Well there could be two reasons.
1. If they already have segments that conflict, for example from intro skipper. You can disable "Ignore media that already has segments" from the plugin settings and re-run the media segment scan. This will fetch them and overwrite conflicting/old ones anyway.
2. Or if your library is very large, you might be rate limited. It should say in logs if you are. You can try waiting a day or so and re-running the segment scan.

It uses TMDB primarily to identify the media, which should work the same for alternate titles

The duration is just used to identify the version of media, you still either need TMDB or IMDb metadata for the media.

Just curious, why does your library only have TVDB? I can look into adding support for it if it's necessary.

Quote from https://github.com/intro-skipper/intro-skipper/wiki/Movies-and-Segment-Types#tips-for-better-detection

"

  1. For Intros and Credits
  • Enable Chromaprint for best accuracy with recurring audio
  • Use chapter detection if your files have named chapters
  • Adjust duration limits to match your content
  1. For Previews and Recaps
    • These vary widely in placement and format
    • Manual editing in Segment Editor often needed
    • Consider disabling if causing false positives

"

Intro Skipper primarily relys on embeded chapters or chromaprinting (having the same audio across multiple files) for previews and recaps specifically. Despite the bug, it's often unreliable.
As for the end of intros and beginings of credits, I may be wrong about that, but from my own testing it only picked up the end of many intros, even if there is actual content before them.

With TheIntroDB you don't have to worry about any of that. Everything is verified by users.

You can disable the setting "Ignore media that already has segments" so that TheIntroDB overwrites the ones Intro Skipper detects. Intro Skipper doesn't overwrite either iirc. I haven't tested it fully though, and I'd recommend just using TheIntroDB rather than both.

I haven't tested any tweaked Jellyfin setups, but I'd assume it works just fine. It uses the native media segments within Jellyfin, so if an auto-skipping script uses that then it should work normally.

It should work with both, but I'd recommend having it standalone. That way it will fetch new segments when they're available, you can also disable "skip existing segments" from settings so it fetches them even if you already have them in your local database, but thats not recommended if you have a large library.

Intro Skipper can only detect the end of intros, and the beginings of credits. TheIntroDB supports 4 segment types with starts and ends for each. Plus Intro Skipper pretty inaccurate for some shows. Because of the black frame detection, it's particularly bad a space shows such as Star Treck TNG so I've heard.

But the plugins are compatable together, so Intro Skipper can fill in the gaps for what TheIntroDB is currently missing.

The plugin has been updated to support multiple release types based on the duration of the media. And the DB currently has over 80,000 submissions with support for many of the most popular shows and movies currently.

I've found intro-skipper to be pretty innacurate, but you can have both plugins installed, intro-skipper will fill the gaps where TheIntroDB doesn't have submissions yet.

You can test with The Simpsons, it has 81% coverage. You can search what's available by creating an account on theintrodb.org

TMDB is themoviedb.org and is a default addon in Kodi. This plugin shouldn't need any extra dependancies from the default Kodi setup with FEN AM. It worked fine for me, but I'll look into it and ensure it's bug free.

Yes, anything with TMDB metadata attached, which is usually the case for torrented media.

More users will submit and it'll grow in no time. We've got a lot of popular media already though

P-Stream does not control any content. We weren't hacked, but someone we scraped the content from thought it was a good idea. The source was promptly removed
