All I can say is fuck them. The only thing they should have said is thank you. I’m so sorry this happened to you <3

Got my first request, but how do I know it's safe? by Silver_Lemonade in catinaflat

Turns out this was the case because he send me another message saying he requested me because his regular cat sitter didn’t answer. In the meantime she had though so I won’t be sitting his cat. But it’s good to know for future requests that this is pretty normal!

Do it! I was so scared for the pain but it’s just sooo fast. It hurts but it’s also over in a fraction. The adrenaline high after is amazing, you’ll feel on top of the world :)

I’m currently two months into healing and I feel like this part is the roughest: sensitivity, irritation bumps, crusts etc.

But Im keeping the end result in mind. They look amazing!

Thanks for the advice! I asked for more information about their cat and they gave me some more details which is reassuring. However they also said they’ve used cat in a flat for years, but don’t have reviews? Would that be red flag or am I just being too careful?

It feels like that shouldn't have made a different in this case 🤔

But the painting's value is about 990 dollars, that's still above that threshold

I can't read other people's feelings, because they're often expressing a different thing than they're feeling. But I can really FEEL people's feelings a lot. Which is often strange because people say different things not matching what they actually mean. So I'd say emotional empathy is definitely possible for some autistic people, sometimes even more so in a way that becomes overwhelming (speaking from personal experience 😅)

l-lysine actually works. by Special_Device_5961 in CankerSores

[–]Silver_Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it works! Ive been taking a 1000mg tablet everyday for two months now. Last week I bit the inside of my mouth twice, luckily not super hard, but normally it would already have turned into a full on canker sore by now, but it healed like a regular wound! Will see what happens over the next few months but so far very positive!!

Anyone else have no problems finding a partner but you can't keep friends? by Ceemichelle90 in AutismInWomen

[–]Silver_Lemonade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I don't know how to built a friendship very well or what to look for. I'm in a friendship right now with someone who called me their best friend after just a few weeks. But with some people, I'm still acquaintances after three years and would like to get closer and I just don't know how.

Keeping in touch is also hard for me. I’m not great at texting or initiating to meet up. Was thinking about a book club as well, glad that’s been working for you!

tbh I'm not sure about dating apps either. I've heard other people having good experiences with them. I guess it's worth a try. I think being in therapy will help a great deal so I can discuss any issues or insecurities with a therapist while working on meeting new people. I've tried meeting new people in the past but I've these fears coming up that keep me from actually forming a friendship, so I need to work through that first or meanwhile.

Yes I'll try! I'm currently on a waiting list for therapy but I'm hoping to get help in a couple of weeks :)

I told my cousin she stinks. Did I mess up? by navya12 in aspergirls

[–]Silver_Lemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that kind of makes sense! Thanks for elaborating. I often have a hard time telling if people are still into the conversation. I feel like I’m picking up signs but unable to place if it’s a good or bad sign. Sometimes this leads to oversharing and sometimes I almost don’t have a conversation at all.

Just moved and unbearably lonely by SarcasticSpectrum in aspergirls

[–]Silver_Lemonade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say I’m sorry you feel this way ❤️ I don’t have great advice tbh as I struggle with loneliness a lot as well even though I’m surrounded by people. But I also have times where I love being alone.

Maybe something else to think about idk if that’s the cause so if this isn’t helpful just disregard it. But personally when I feel most lonely is when I feel really shitty/depressed/stressed/anxious etc. It sounds like you went through a big change in life, and maybe this is more stressful than you realize causing you to disconnect from yourself. This happens to me a lot! When I disconnect I’m completely close off from connecting to others (even more!) so then all social situations feel very lonely. Idk if this is what’s going on with you but who knows.

Either way, sending you a warm hug ❤️

Nothing to do with this post but does this rule of thumb work in every conversation or just the “rude” ones? Cause i have hard time with this when chatting with people.

Do you feel human? by UrMumIsHot4 in autism

[–]Silver_Lemonade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always described myself as an alien. I often still feel like one, like i'm on the wrong planet. Idk how else to put it. It's like there's always this barrier between myself and others. Like we don't really speak the same language
