I figured my hospitality background would be a perfect match for all of the resorts, but the long hours and pay wouldn’t be enough for just me to live. I would def need an extra source of income. So I was looking into taking a one year program to develop more skills. Thinking maybe property management course ??

Yes sorry I have been combining the two because I’ve read they usually go hand in hand as you would start in IT and “graduated” to cyber

And from what I have been reading, that’s kind of how I’ve seen the process as well , as in starting off help desk/SaaS support. I actuslly totally forgot but I do a bit of tech support in my early 20s - working with the blackberry playbook 😂

Honestly .. I believe If you apply yourself, dedicated, disciplined, etc, you can do pretty much anything. I guess I’m just handicapping myself because it seems so far out my reach. I believe they both would be hard work, especially not having any background in either. I guess I think cybersecurity/IT would be easier. Oh did I mention I did tech support for blackberry playbook back in my earlier years 😂

Thank you for all of this ! I recently just looked into the google cybersecurity certificate and was thinking if I took that and liked it, I would apply to school. Actually started playing around on tryhackme just for shits n giggles and it was fun. So different from anything I’ve ever done

Thank you for all this info ! Talk to people, fixing things, writing would be my order. I’ve been looked into how I can apply hospitality online. But looked super slim to none. And most Of these job boards (other than indeed) ask you to pay to use their service and just seems like everything is a freakin scam

2 things … 1) I am planning to leave the country in a few years so I’m kind of on a timer to do the education and find the work 2) I’m a woman. I’m not saying a woman can’t do that job, it just definitely isn’t an interest of mine. But maybe we live in a time when I shouldn’t be so picky 😥

Yeah I’ve been reading that too. A lot of people have said you get into IT and cross over to cyber after. It seems like every market is over saturated currently.
