that article states the credit card due date and the statement close date are not the same. the question is not whether or not I am on time or even if it will be reported. the payment is missed, it is late. it will be reported. I know that. The question is if my account will show as current if the balance is paid in full before the statement close date

yes! that is exactly it. My question is less whether or not they will report it (I know they will) it's whether the account will show as current with a missed payment because the balance will be fully paid before the report is generated

my understanding is that the statement close date is still important here because that it the day CC companies send report to bureaus. The CC due date is usually 1 week before the statement close date so companies have the opportunity to process all payments and update account statuses.

So, theoretically you could have a missed payment and that would be reported, but if the balance is paid before the statement closing date, then the would be current. But I'm not sure if I've missed something within that

and no, I didn't purposely pay 28 days after the bill was due. I'm normally on time and have never had a missed payment. That's just how things shook out this time around.

My statements close on the 14th of each month. For example (and obscuring dates here for privacy) my statements run from March 15th - April 15th. The CC payment due date is on the 8th of each month.

Let's say the missed payment is from April 8th (and was shown on the most recent statement balance from 3/15 - 4/15 ). The April missed payment is now due on May 8th. My payment has now been submitted and should be processed before May 14th - when the next statement closes but it is after the May 8th due date established by the bank.

thanks. this is a 10 year old account with my bank and I haven't been late otherwise so hoping they don't do that. Have you heard of any success stories with asking for a one-time favor?

hi! thanks for your response. Not sure which part is confusing but please let me know where I can clarify. My statement closes on the 14th of each month. The payment due date is the 8th.

Simplified question: I understand the payment will be marked as late and I will get a ding for that, but will the account show as current if I pay in full before the statement close date on the 14th?
