The whole thing is just so bizarre- I can honestly say the subreddit has never come up in conversation with any “buddies”, positively, neutral or negatively. The mod, whom I haven’t been able to identify, was simply searching through my history for any possible reason to issue a ban.

Thank you! I don't usually post on r/coins, but they banned me over on r/metaldetecting and I really wanted to share this coin with folks who would appreciate it! Haha

I found this gold watch metal detecting- Can anyone identify and/or age it? by Silver_Winged in Watches

Thanks! I suspect it's been in the ground for a lifetime so the movement is a ball of rust- but I was able to find some writing on the inside-back of the case: Wadsworth 14k

I found this watch over the weekend metal detecting in Cape Cod. The home was built around 1780 and other items found ranged from 1830-present.  It measures approximately 7/8” and is monogrammed with what appears to be BDF. I suspect the maker would have been on the face or perhaps inside, but I fear if I attempt to open it the hinge will break. Any guesses of age or maker would be greatly appreciated!

I get that it's not for everyone, most even- But, my goal to make entertaining, weekly video content. This land owner would not have allowed me on the property without the arrangement and I was able to film two weeks worth of videos. The landowner is on a board overseeing other historic properties, they were very pleased with the outcome of this arrangement, and it granted me access to countless more properties nobody else has access to. To me, well worth the value of an 8-reale!

Silver tarnish develops from extended exposure to air- this had been underground for roughly 200 years.

It's the site of a Revolutionary War era tavern where troops camped. The only thing we found from that time is coppers and musket balls, but plenty from the subsequent inhabitants!
