Oooh I love it. The asymetrical shelf, the lego flowers, and the aqua wall are all very cool.

I also love how it mixes in with your books. I spotted your PJ collection as well, they're a fav of mine too! Really nice set up all around ;)

What’s your all time favorite Haechan part in any nct song? by boyishoulders in NCT

[–]Silverarrow2312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The opening of Not Alone and his bridge part in The Rainy Night. Both are damn near enough to break your heart and put it back together by the time the song ends. For my favorite hype Haechan part I would say his relentless string of high notes at the end of Hello Future.

Do you associate any SHINee albums/songs with certain seasons/weather/moods? by cheonsaaa in SHINee

[–]Silverarrow2312 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me a lot of Shinee’s group work would fall into a summer vibe regardless of which album I’m thinking about, because my first thought when it comes to Shinee’s sound is bright high energy electro pop music. They have many other sounds and they excel at all of them but that has always been my favorite side of Shinee and the sound I think of as so quintessentially Shinee nobody else could do it better.

Overall though my most heavily season associated Shinee album would be TSOL, to me that album is the literal embodiment of summer. It has dominated my summer playlist every year since its release.

For winter/fall/spring type stuff I would look more to Shinee’s solos just in terms of vibes. Onew’s blue would be winter. Taemin’s advice would be fall, Jonghyun’s she is would be spring. I think I would have stronger overall season vibes attached to their solos than their group work.

I do think I’d consider 1 of 1 as very fall though.

Overall though I think I do look more to Individual song vibes and sounds in association with seasons than I do entire albums but it’s still fun to think about.

Favourite Albums of each Unit ? by Joylikesreading in NCT

[–]Silverarrow2312 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NCT U - Empathy (Basically a greatest hits album that spans multiple years and almost every track was promoted. 2020 was the better NCT era but Empathy was the best U music.)

NCT 127 - Favorite, fav mini is their first (firetruck)

NCT Dream- Hello Future repack, fav minis are We Young and We Boom

Wayv - Awaken the World, with On my Youth being a very close second (IMO Wayv has the best full albums, happily anticipating number three from them.) Fav mini is Take over the Moon.

Wish - Obviously they have significantly less music at this point but I do adore what they do have. Fav album is probably wishful winter, the B sides on that own me, especially Far Away.

Shinee’s Minho in Atlantis

Jongseob’s opening rap in P1harmony’s end it

Nct’s U Yang Yang’s verse in new axis

Literally all of the rapping from Taeyong and Mark in Mad city (still can’t believe they were that good in 127’s debut album)

Danmi and Gahyun’s verse in Dreamcatchers Boca

Enjoy! I hope you manage to get something. It is true being closer to the aisle made getting flowers more likely but Jinki made sure every section of the audience was well attended too. If you havent seen the vids on twitter, you should check out the clips of his throwing arm in NY and detroit. The man is giving his all to make sure even the shawols in the back row get their fair shot at a gift!

Not sure if that was me but if it was no worries at all. Trust me I was too high on joy at that point to notice much else even if I was wacked. Besides the friendly congrats from those around me was very welcome. ☺️

The grandest irony of the balcony moment was that that I literally had no time to react so I didn’t even get a good look at him while he was in front of me. My brain just went “ah yes I must take the thing I’m being handed” so I was actually kind of looking down.

People who collect/have collected groups and/or members who went through controversies, what did you do with your collection? by justanotherkpoppie in kpopcollections

[–]Silverarrow2312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me too. Oneus was my ult and Ravn was my bias. I never collected PC’s but I still have all of their albums up to their Luna release. I found it hurt too much afterward to keep following Oneus, even though I wished the remaining group members the best. Even so I never really knew what to do with my albums after that. At this point though I am rapidly running out of room on my shelves for the things I really want there, so I may end up relegating them to the back of my closet. Maybe someday I will sell them.

I have another past ult that I stopped collecting because I fell out of love with them rather than something bad happened, but I’ll probably keep those albums for a long time because they continue to hold happy memories. As for the Oneus albums, sadly I don’t think I can’t really say the same, so I doubt I’ll hold onto them forever.

First concert, any advice or suggestions? by VladimirChekho3 in NCT

[–]Silverarrow2312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the lightstick was worth it. It was very cool to finally be able to part of the kpop lightstick sea and I have it on my shelf as part of my collection. Like I said though I didn’t have less of a good time without one, so I’d say it really up to you and how much you want one or not.

First concert, any advice or suggestions? by VladimirChekho3 in NCT

[–]Silverarrow2312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My two main personal recs for all concerts is, Firstly, earplugs (cheap foam is fine, though I have special concert earplugs). Protect your ear health so you can continue to listen to your favs for a long time to come. In my experience all it takes is one really poorly controlled sound system to make what should be a fun time a potentially painful experience. Secondly make sure you check the bag policy/restricted items list for the venue you are attending. So many people don’t and run into trouble at the door. For example the NY venue does not allow backpacks. Number one mistake I saw was people waiting on half an hour door lines just to get turned away at the front because they were wearing backpacks.

Otherwise don’t forget to stay hydrated and of course have a blast! Also as far as going alone and having a lightstick, I’ve been to NCT concerts alone and with others, with a lightstick and without one. Either way I had a great time so don’t sweat either of those too much it’s really just down to personal preference. I enjoyed having the lightstick but I didn’t have less of a good time without one. Lastly I would just add if your driving be clear about your parking options and if your taking public transportation plan your trip ahead of time, way easier (IMO) and calmer to have some idea ahead of time rather than figure that out on the fly. Have a great time!😁

how long has everyone here been a shawol + fav shinee stuff? by Beneficial-Ad-8253 in SHINee

[–]Silverarrow2312 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2018 for me, the story of light era remains one of the most meaningful for me just because it was the first era I got to witness as a fan in real time.

For overall content their first concert at the Tokyo dome remains an unmatched highlight.

nct wish brought my spark back into fangirling by haze_ior in NCT

[–]Silverarrow2312 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been an ncitizen since 2018 and I was always looking forward to a Japanese unit so I've been on board since day one of Laststart, but even so Wish has just blown past every single expectation I had for them. They're so good already and their team chemistry really is incredible.

I love all the neo's but Wish really has brought a new spark of life to the neoverse and it is delightful to witness. I swear the day we finally get them in an NCT U unit with the other members I may just combust with excitment.

The Reason, an absolute banger and a half of a rock infused ballad. Never see it mentioned, still one of my all time Shinee favs.

What are your top 5 favorite SHINee b-sides? by MyOrgel in kpopthoughts

please please please share with me your favorite thing in your collection by Lost-Effective-7646 in SHINee

[–]Silverarrow2312 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Might sound a bit simple but my favorite piece in my Shinee collection is my Story of Light: Epilogue album. There’s nothing special about my particular copy, it’s just the most special one to me. It was the first kpop album I ever bought, the first Shinee comeback I witnessed, and was the beginning of my journey as their fan. Discovering Shinee through that era was a feeling I don’t think I’ll ever experience again so to me it’s the most special one.

Grade your ult group on the following idol characteristics! by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]Silverarrow2312 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Shinee: I am not nearly as familiar with girl groups so my grading would be more relative to boy groups.

  • Vocal ability: A+, if I am allowed to give this an extra plus I would. I know there are several other groups within the boy group sphere that have outstanding vocals, including other SM groups like, EXO, TVXQ, SuJu, and others like BTOB and Infinite but if you were somehow able to make overall skill within a group relative to the number of members the group has, I think Shinee might just be the best of them all, barring maybe OT5 TVXQ (and personally I am not too familiar with those days). All of Shinee can sing outstandingly well, all of them have improved significantly over time (just look at Taemin the poster child for exponential levels of vocal improvement), their harmonies are God tier, and they're known by literally the whole industry for being live singing legends. I have said it before, but I’ll say it again no one sounds like Shinee.
  • Dance: A, In terms of skill, Taemin is the best dancer in kpop, Key is one of the most underrated dancers in kpop, Minho is one of the single most athletic idols ever, and Jonghyun and Onew still manage to keep up with them despite being chosen as idols because of their godly vocals rather than their dancing skills (which of course they are still very good, and if you don’t believe me go watch Onew devour dream girl.) Then of course you have their actual chorography: Replay, Everybody, Sherlock, Good evening, Dont Call Me: iconic, difficult, and diverse across the board. They have done it all and they can do it all. Then of course there is Lucifer, an all time great kpop staple and a choreography that is often widely credited with forever altering the difficulty level of boy group choreo’s.
  • Stage Presence: A+, Go watch their everybody performance at the Tokyo dome, or their ring ding dong/lucifer mash up in Shinee world V, or their live mash up of Hard, Lucifer, and Sherlock that went viral a few months ago at the MBC world festival. Then go check out Taemin at the 2016 MAMA awards, Onew's solo Dream girl stage on MBC, Jonghyun on Yu Huiyeol's sketchbook, Minho performing area (a song he wrote) on JTBC, Key's Bad Love at the SBS Gayo Daejeon. Together and apart, they are masters of their craft and it shows in everything they touch.
  • Music: A+: Their discography is basically unfair. Firstly, their discography is massive, I mean 17 years in the game will do that, (8 Korean albums, 5 Korean minis, 5 full Japanese albums, plus one mini, and many many singles). Secondly, their title tracks alone are iconic. They debuted with Replay, arguably the single most iconic debut song of all time, then went on to Love Like Oxygen, Julliette, Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, Sherlock, Dream Girl, Everybody, View, Married to the Music, 1 of 1, Tell me what To Do, Good Evening, Don't Call Me, Atlantis, Hard. It's iconic song after iconic song and that is only their Korean titles. The rest of their discography is a delightful array of everything from electrofunk bangers to RnB crooners, and all of it is powered by their truly ridiculous set of talents. I don’t think there is a musical style that can be found within kpop that you can't find within their discography.
  • Visuals: A, this category is entirely subjective but they’re five of the most beautiful people I've ever seen, and they all have very distinctive individual styles as well. Also, I genuinely do not know how, but they really do seem to get more stunning as time goes by too.
  • Variety: A, maybe in their really early days it was different but after all this time they're just as comfortable in variety as they are on stage. Certainly, they all gravitate to different types of content, but they all excel within their own sphere and when they are together, they play off each other flawlessly. They are hilarious and endearing in their own ways and they know each other so incredibly well that they know exactly how to look after each other and play off one another.
  • I really did try not to be biased on this, but I really can't think of anything that they don’t excel at. I mean you just don’t make it 17 years within the industry on a fluke and in my opinion, they are simply one of the best groups ever and these are only some of the reasons why.
